Fabulous location, great food, and friendly staff
Beach club with pool is a short walk away. However, staff offered to drive guests there and back in a golf-cart if preferred

A beautiful setting. The private harbour is quaint & picture-perfect. The loggia and restaurant afford a beautiful vista of the lake and are a lovely place to take breakfast or dinner.
Reception staff (and some, but not all of the wait staff) were helpful and friendly.
The tavern and bistro lunch offerings were lovely & fresh.
The main restaurant’s salted sea bass was divine & the waiter helped us with our wine choices which were all lovely accompaniments to our meal & didn’t break the bank!
There are so many little things that could be done to transform this hotel from good to exceptional.
Currently it’s a little like Faulty Towers: nothing quite seems to flow smoothly (eg, it took more than 2 hours for our bags to move from reception to our room which was approx. 15 metres away and I constantly had to ask reception to unlock the outer building door on the way to our room which was inexplicably permanently locked).
- Allocate an indoor lounge area for guests to chill out and take a drink after hours or in bad weather (the bar outside closes at 9pm and after that there’s nowhere to go).
- Refresh the rooms: they are a bit tired & dated. Room 11 was quite dark & drab. The windows are low-set so don’t afford a view or much light.
- Offer complimentary drinking water in the rooms (the hotel is not close to shops).
- Room upgrades: we were asked repeatedly (before and upon our arrival) if we wanted to upgrade (probably because they knew how dark & drab our room was), but at a cost: if you have a better room available just offer the upgrade for free (the goodwill you foster is priceless).
- Do a light overhaul of the harbour dining area (the tables & chairs were all over the place & there are giant white bottles of disinfectant and wipes dotted around everywhere in clear view of patrons: side note, is the disinfectant suitable for use near aquatic life?). A small bunch of flowers dotted here & there, baskets to hide your cleaning products, etc.): it’s such a gem of an area but feels a bit chaotic and unloved.
- Make better use of the courtyard seating area outside reception (it isn’t inviting: it feels like a thoroughfare and the little signs stuck to the furniture allocating it as hotel guest use only looks tacky).

C15th grandeur in a fantastic one off location. The staff were wonderfully welcoming and could not be more helpful. The restaurant was good whilst the breakfast was possibly the best we have ever had in a hotel stay. The pool is large and largely empty with a great BBQ taverna on site. People watching from the taverna next to the hotel as boats come and go was entertainment in itself. Altogether a great and restful stay.

The breakfast was absolutely delicious. Quite a large variety of choices, all fresh and delicious.
Personnel was very friendly and helpful, very polite and welcoming.
I can strongly recommend eating there for dinner...excellent taste of the food.
The double bed consists of a beautiful wood-crafted frame, but unfortunately, the mattress was a bit less comfortable.

Locanda San Vigilio is a wonderful place to stay. Quiet, beautiful appartments, wonderful view, nice "bar" where you can have coffee, wine or more.
Perfect stay !

I liked nothing...the room was very small for 320 Euro one night about 20 qm and I was charged for 2 nights even I stayed only one night only because the reservation was for 2 nights.
I had to leave after one night because the mattress was bad and I got a lot of back pain.
The second reason to leave was this very small room ( my bathroom at home is larger )
I stayed there often a few years ago but now Never again!
The good old times are definitely over.

Wonderful place, exceptional location, super friendly staff and great food. Would always highly recommend for a romantic getaway. We will certainly be back soon.
Well, this is a very old but well preserved property with relevant limitations obviously. But this is the charm which makes San Vigilio so unique. The is nothing not to like.
