Friendly B & B offering good value for money.

Very warm welcome by friendly staff. Hotel was convenient for town and getting round local attractions. Great choice for breakfast and tasted great.

The room had a sliding door on the en-suite which was rather noisy to open, especially noticeable during the night! Guests above came back very late and caused a little bit of disturbance on their return.

Excellent last minute and value for money

Breakfast was great value for money. A great location with car park and only a short walk into town. The host was very friendly and helpful. Plenty of tea and coffee in room. The shower was excellent very powerful and lovely big towels and rooms were clean

A tired hotel in need of updating but all was very clean and the breakfast was great.

The location was perfect for us - we are walking the South West Coastal Path and the hotel is very close to the path. We liked the breakfast - it was great. We liked the cleanliness of the room and bathroom. It was quiet.

We had a lot of trouble trying to contact anyone at the hotel before we arrived. We had a specific request and we emailed (over four days) and rang over two days - we didn’t manage to speak to anyone before we arrived. The hotel looks tired and dated. Our first impressions were that the hotel definitely needs updating. It gave Fawlty Towers vibes! When we got to our room it was freezing - the rest of the hotel was very warm. We tried to contact someone to solve this - ended up trying to bleed the radiator ourselves - although that didn’t seem to be the problem. We turned up the radiator on the landing and propped open the bedroom door - that did help a little. The lady serving breakfast did apologise in the morning and said she had called a plumber.

Location good but not a good hotel

Appreciate was off season but room looked tired and dated was very small for a double. No one around to check us in another guest let us in and keys were on the counter with our invoice bed sheet had a stain on it was more like a youth hostel

Weather not the best but it was October. Plenty to do in Ilfracombe, great pubs and restaurants.

I decided not to stay. The acrid air in the property was unpleasant.

1) Good location for Ilfracombe centre. 2) Clean room

1) A "smokey", acrid atmosphere to the air in the property. 2) Not an inhospitable patron, but not particularly hospitable either. 3) Late breakfast; not great for a working day. 4) On a dark night, it was difficult to find (no illuminated sign) 5) Light not working in corridor in room, so it was too dark to see where I was going.

A nice place – would definitely return

Helpful and friendly staff, clean tidy room. Very lovely breakfast with a fresh fruit salad. I was working at the tunnels wedding venue so this was only a short walk down the road. Parking was easy. We got a good quiet night sleep and our dog was welcome.

Nothing we didn’t like. It’s a little dated in places, but well kept & comfortable – and great to be supporting an independent owner.

The room tended to be a bit small so not really suitable for a longer stay. Also the toilet was on a raised platform making it a bit difficult for a short person

Best holiday ever

I loved the location easy access to the town centre and different areas of beach that was amazing. The hotel was amazing. Lovely people who owned the hotel were just so warm, welcoming they know how to have a laugh with their customers. The breakfast every morning was delicious. Never have to wait for a refill on your coffees, always table service for you. Very pet friendly, they welcome your dog like their own part of the family. Rooms were fantastic, very comfortable beds me and my daughter slept really well. Highly recommend this hotel you won't be disappointed as soon as you walk into your room it smells really lovely everything was so clean suburb job they have done.

Overall a really enjoyable stay, ideal for a long weekend as location is just up from the harbour, great value for money

Location was great and the breakfast that was included within the price was excellent

We stayed on the ground floor. Which other guests may not think about when gathering in the main lobby so at times we found it to be a little noisy. Perhaps some signage reminding the guests there may be other people sleeping in rooms on the ground floor would help

not be returning

Room was terrible, very small was a single made into a double, but did swop for us for 5 nites we had to return to the small room on last nite. The worse thing smelling fags and marijuana all the times, we had to have the windows open as it was too hot in the rooms, and the smoking area was below our windows, so we could not get away from the smells... the place needs updated photos as its nothing to the pics... The staff do make you welcome and the food was good...

A pleasant and welcoming place to stay

On arrival Lynn gave us a warm welcome. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and there were plenty of nice clean towels for the duration of our stay. The shower was good with plenty of hot water. The breakfast was outstanding with a huge choice, which included fresh fruit, yoghurt, a choice of cereal, and a full English cooked breakfast. There was no problem parking on the property which was situated close to the beaches and town.

Practical and pleasant.

Rapid service at breakfast allowed us to be in good time for our boat to Lundy.

It took a very long time for our breakfast choices to be taken when we checked in. But then, the service was very rapid at breakfast!

Good base to explore Ilfracombe with free parking

Really comfortable bed and lovely ensuite shower room. Breakfast was cooked to everyday you can order what you'd like from the available options (excellent variety of options) and this is served to your table at breakfast time. Games room and honesty bar gave us extra places to sit and relax which was a bonus.

Nothing to dislike. It's not a luxury hotel but if like us the most important thing to you is a comfy bed, a clean room, parking and WiFi with lovely customer service you can't go wrong for the price. If you struggle with stairs though may not be the place for you.
