We found our family room to be cosy and comfortable. It was clean and the bathroom was modern. The landlady was welcoming and chatty. The highlight for us was the fantastic breakfast, many food options and quantity was generous. Mini fridge was very helpful.

The breakfast was exceptional! We had to make our choices on arrival and it was all ready for us when we got to the breakfast room - be warned, they were very generous portions! Our dog was also very well looked after with his own sausage and bacon so he will be wanting to visit again. It was an added bonus that there was a bar area with a tv and a pool table, which we used until we ran out of 50p pieces. Ideal location for exploring the coast path and town, friendly welcome and great value for money!
We were in a downstairs room next to the reception, when people were checking in, it was a little noisy. In the evening our tv didn't have great reception. I suspect it was the weather affecting the signal as it was fine the next morning and it wasn't an issue as there was a tv in the bar area that we watched after visiting one of the local pubs.

The location was perfect for us - we are walking the South West Coastal Path and the hotel is very close to the path.
We liked the breakfast - it was great.
We liked the cleanliness of the room and bathroom.
It was quiet.
We had a lot of trouble trying to contact anyone at the hotel before we arrived. We had a specific request and we emailed (over four days) and rang over two days - we didn’t manage to speak to anyone before we arrived.
The hotel looks tired and dated. Our first impressions were that the hotel definitely needs updating. It gave Fawlty Towers vibes!
When we got to our room it was freezing - the rest of the hotel was very warm. We tried to contact someone to solve this - ended up trying to bleed the radiator ourselves - although that didn’t seem to be the problem. We turned up the radiator on the landing and propped open the bedroom door - that did help a little. The lady serving breakfast did apologise in the morning and said she had called a plumber.
