Clean, welcoming, family owned hotel on a historical, active street.

The hotel is family owned. The owner, Olivier was so nice. He helped us find reasonable parking. He suggested two great French restaurants nearby. The hotel is located on Colbert St, a very old and active city street near the famous cathedral and down to a major shopping area. The narrow street is a bit gritty, but very active o to our liking. The room was very basic, but had a very welll remodeled bathroom

The hotel has no elevator. This required us to walk up five floors to our room. We did it, and we are in our late 60's, but just be prepared. Olivier help me, my husband managed his. This is a basic family hotel and not luxurious if that is what you want. There is an to buy breakfast. (We didn't as preferred finding some coffee and a patisserie on the street, so can't speak to that.) We would definitely return

Comfortable small hotel on the quaint cobblestoned Rue Colbert for food and boutiques

15 minutes walk at most from Tours station, Hotel Colbert is in a great area. Rue Colbert has so many eating options from cheap and cheerful to more classically French but affordable. About 10 minutes walk to the old town and other sights. The cathedral is closer and worth some time. Walk the short distance to the river - autumn and spring would be beautiful. Our room was huge for 2 people - not complaining - and several floors up, with a beautiful view across the rooftops. Delightful and romantic. Decorated in a fairly basic, modern fashion but very clean and comfortable. The hotel does not have a lift, but the stairs are wide. And the proprietor is happy to help. We didn't have breakfast here, but we did hear other guests commenting the breakfast was fine. A good base to explore Tours and its sights, and on the train or bikes along the Loire for chateaux and wineries.

Perhaps a small fridge to allow guests to bring in a few essentials. Tea and coffee were available in the room but nowhere to store milk or a few snacks.

Perfect little hotel to experience the heart of Tours

The location is perfect in the old town with lots of little restaurants in rue Colbert and close to the Loire, the cathedral and the museum des beaux arts. The owner is very kind and helpful. Very nice rooms with a quiet atmosphere.

There is no elevator, but for us this was no problem.

A lovely hotel, very convenient for walking around Tours

The location was great. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and quiet. It was at the back. We enjoyed our stay there.

I could not find a hairdryer in the room. The teas and coffees were not replenished and no clean cups given during our stay. There was no shampoo.

The breakfast was great, with the freshest croissants and with really nice personal service from the owner, who was very welcoming and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable and the hotel is in a great central location

Very convenient

Olivier was extremely helpful and the room was comfortable. As usual in France and Spain there was no plug for the sink thereby wasting water while shaving in the morning. However, we will probably return another time.

A neat piece of home

The hotel is in the very centre of the old city close to all important historical monuments. The rooms are tiny but very cosy, well designed, carefully organised and furnished, since the facility is run by an enthusiastic family. In proper weather conditions guests may have their breakfast in the open space of the back yard garden, a piece of green art, an extract from Eden, where one can charge him or her self before the adventures of the day.

No lift in a 4 floor edifice, although it is in an old carefully restored building, where insertion of such a tool would be traumatic.operation, if at all possible.

Did not have breakfast but what a beautiful hotel in the best location. All the bars and restaurants are within 2 minutes. Clean,tidy,modern,quiet ,just great.

Well-located stay in Tours

Hotel Colbert was extremely well-situated, and we found parking nearby, although this could have been a problem (there was much free parking around, but very few free places). The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The room was large and comfortable, and unusually had a safe. Everything was very clean.

Two things could have been better. First, there was no kettle, coffee etc in the room. Even if not advertised, this is rather expected. Second, breakfast was adequate, but compared to eight other breakfasts offered by hotels, this was easily the poorest, with no cereal, fruit, yoghurt or meat apparently on offer (breakfast was brought to the table by the host; there was no self-service spread).

This hotel was a lovely discovery. The room was spotless and nicely decorated. Even though the hotel is centrally located on rue Colbert, it's very quiet and the perfect place to rest after a long day. I will definitely stay here again!

Great Stay in Tours

We had a very nice stay in Tours and it's a great location to stay at to visit castles in the surrounding countryside. The Hotel Colbert provides a good value for money and it's in a great location in Tours. The owner of the hotel is very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend the hotel to those planning a trip to Tours. If I were to return for another trip to the City I'd stay at the Hotel Colbert again.

A charming, good value hotel in the center of town.

The location was great - a short walk from anything we needed and right near plenty of good restaurants. The staff made good suggestions. The room was large, comfortable, and well decorated, and the bathroom and shower were great. The little patio out back was quiet and adorable, and our room was quiet.

It was very hot outside during our stay, and there was no room air-conditioning, which would've made our stay more comfortable. Also no elevator, and we were on the 3rd floor. But that's harder to fix than the a/c issue!
