Although the property is a little way out of the centre, it is a beautiful walk along the river Arno to the sights and museums.
The breakfast did not start until 8.00 am. When I had to leave earlier the staff would bring me a very good coffee to have before I went out.

The kindness of the staff. Exceptional welcoming at checkin, explaining the facilities of the hotel, kindness of the staff in the breakfast room and fast check out. The hotel is a beautiful structure with a little view on Duomo, but offering also an amazing terrace facing Arno river. The gentleman in the check in gave us tips on areas to visit and also restaurants. The hotel has a garden whee car could be parked and we were allowed to leave our car til late when we had our flight. Cleanliness is superb.
Breakfast could be varied.

Beautiful, small hotel in a historic building, with lovely decorator touches and a caring staff. Nicely decorated for the holidays. It’s just beyond the hustle and bustle of the Ponte Vecchio/Uffizi area, so a bit quieter - yet only a few blocks’ walk away down the lovely Arno River. Lovely buffet breakfast every morning. Small dogs are ok; and they were lovely and kind in accommodating my dog.
It’s an old building, which will have its quirks. Like thin walls; so loud neighbors can be a challenge. Breakfast is very nice, but exactly the same every morning. On a longer stay, a little variety - even if only on the hot dishes - would be appealing.

Hotel was exceptional. Do not hesitate to book here, clean rooms, brilliant staff, a 10 min walk to all the attractions. Also comes with a hotel dog, who is such a good boy! We would book here again in a heartbeat! Breakfast is varied and really tasty.

The room was huge and really suited to what we needed and the location was excellent with just a 15 minute walk into the center of Florence. Staff were excellent and really helpful
The parking was quite stressful and it was difficult to find the gate to the hotel parking using the instructions given. The plumbing in the hotel wasn't good making it difficult to run the bath and the toilet broke at one point.

The fact there was parking, and the breakfast was quite good. The terrace overlooking the garden was beautiful and the staff were friendly.
The location was quite far from the main part of Florence. The parking was perfect but they charged €30 per day which seemed excessive when we were already paying over €200 for a night. The hotel itself is very dated as well.

The staff were friendly when needed. The breakfast staff in particular couldn’t do enough for you.
This hotel looks nothing like it does on the pictures. The owners have spent a lot of money on clever marketing, which feels completely dishonest. It is very deceiving. We paid £800 to stay in this hotel in Florence for 2 nights. The hotel is so dated and needs a complete revamp. The staff said that because the building was protected it prohibited them from making essential upgrades (questionable?). The air con was about 40 years old and we were worried that it had never been serviced. The outdoor terrace, there wasn’t one - it was a mess. The shared parts of the building were unclean, needed a good hoover and dusting. I think this is a common issue with Italian hotels in that they are largely very old but sell themselves as vintage Italian. If we could have stayed in a Travelodge or a Premier Inn with working air conditioning we would have, you know what you are getting for your money. Please do some research before staying at this hotel. There are much nicer and reasonably priced hotels in similar locations. Please also make sure that you change the review filter on booking.com to “most recent” instead of “most relevant” as it only provides you with the top most rated reviews, which I can only assume have come from auto-generated bots - which the hotel have presumably paid for. It is not a 4 star hotel.

This is the perfect old fashioned Italian luxury hotel with an amazing view overlooking the Arno river and Tuscan hills. The staff took every step to enhance our stay! The rooms and bathrooms are very spacious, cool (effective air conditioning) and impeccably clean. Beds are super comfortable too. There is also a pretty little garden where you can have your breakfast served by the very attentive and kind staff. The rooftop terrace is a hidden gem that many visitors seem to miss, but here you can just sit in elegant furniture and have a 360 degree view of Florence. We also enjoyed talking with the sweet receptionists (all of them very kind and authentic). The location is perfect - beautiful villas, safe and quiet - and just a nice and safe walk along the riverbank to all the important attractions.
A small thing that could be improved is the (continental) breakfast. It could have some more options, if you’re like us and love breakfast;). But on a nearby street you’ll find a really cool place called Òzio where you can have a contemporary “all-day-breakfast” if you’d like!
If you love vintage, trendy shops and cafes head to the other side of the river to the Santo Spirito market on Sundays or the shops on the small streets all other days.

The room was stunning and attention was paid to every detail. The AC worked super well. The view of from the balcony was beautiful, including full view of the Duomo. The location was really nice because it is right on the river, and close to everywhere I wanted to go, without being in the thick of chaos or noise.
There is a garden and a rooftop terrace, both gorgeous and peaceful.
The staff was absolutely top tier, all extremely kind and helpful.
Breakfast was delicious and easy.
I can't think of one thing I didn't like about this hotel. It was wonderful.

My stay at Hotel Principe was overall a fantastic experience! The absolute highlight has to be the rooftop – it’s exceptional. The views over the city are simply breathtaking, especially at sunset. It’s the perfect spot to unwind and take in the beauty of the surroundings.
The room was on the smaller side, but very well designed, clean, and comfortable – everything I needed for a relaxing stay. It felt cozy and stylish, with nice touches that made it feel welcoming.
The staff were generally helpful, although I have to mention one guy at the reception who was just a little too much 😄 – overly enthusiastic, perhaps, but it didn’t take away from the overall great experience.
If you're looking for a place with charm, comfort, and unforgettable views, Hotel Principe is a great choice. I'd happily stay again!

Very close to the city center (15 min walking) and the hotel placed next to the river. It's amazing old building with so beautiful design inside. Very nice people are working in the hotel and they were up to help with advices.

Hotel principe was great. We were only in Florence for one night and couldn’t have picked a better place to stay. We had an amazing view of the Arno and a perfect little balcony. We arrived to Florence early prior to our check in, but they held our bags for us so we could explore the city. They did the same for us on our check out day. It is the perfect distance to walk to everything, but a little out of the hustle and bustle of the center of the city near the Duomo, which was great for us.

The property was in a good location.
The amount they charge for the parking and no iron provided in the room. I asked for one and they provided one but the next day when i came back to my room the do not disturb was in my door someone came in and removed it. So had no iron for my clothes.

Il Principe is a small and very nice hotel where you can experience true sense of hospitality - there is no wish that has not been fulfilled. Besides the exceptional staff a very nice little garden to chill outside and the house itself - its history and intimacy have been main attractions of our stay.

The hotel was by the river Arno and within walking distance of all central points. Our suite had the comfort of a home and was very clean. We felt very comfortable with our children. And also terrace of hotel had a very beautiful city panorama.
Our suite had all the items a house should have. There was also a refrigerator, but it would have been much nicer to have a mini bar filled with water and there were no slippers.
