Wonderful stay and would recommend.

The staff at Hotel Magenta were exceptional, providing warm, friendly, and highly professional service throughout our stay. The breakfast was excellent, featuring delicious café lattes and a wide variety of food options. The location is ideal - conveniently situated near the train station and tram, with direct access to the airport. Many major attractions and restaurants are also within walking distance. Overall, it was a wonderful stay.

The only reason I did not give Hotel Magenta a 10 is that the property could benefit from some updates. The mattresses had toppers that tended to slide and were uncomfortable; replacing them with new mattresses would make a noticeable improvement. Upon arrival, there was an unpleasant odor in the staircase and hallway, which was concerning at first, although it did dissipate later. Overall, the property would benefit from a fresh coat of paint and more modern finishes.

Good option!

The location is perfect! It's close to everything, and we were able to walk everywhere. The breakfast was also great.

The room was very warm, and we couldn’t control the temperature. We tried opening the window, but there were a lot of mosquitoes. They did give us a fan, though, which helped a lot.

Great for people who value amazing hospitality and a quiet area!

We loved several things: 1. Staff is fantastic - Hotel is family owned, so you will see the family rotating shifts and you will get to see them all depending on how many days you stay there. Every single person was friendly and very willing to help and recommend places! 2. Location - We were looking for a quiet area, a little away from the most touristic spots and we definitely got what we were looking for. Only a 10-minute walk from the train station and a 20-minute walk from the Florence Duomo (Cathedral Santa Maria Del Fiore) if you intend to visit. 3. Breakfast - We visited 3 other cities in Italy and none of the other hotels we stayed had breakfast included in the price, so this was a nice treat. 4. Small acts of kindness and genuine desire to help - During our pre-trip research, we learned about a restaurant that seemed to be really great, but hard to place a reservation. The restaurant's website didn't offer an option to reserve a table online and people on the reviews were recommending to ask someone local to call them up on your behalf, as international calls might be tricky. I kept hearing it was also hard to get a hold of the restaurant over the phone, so I decided to contact Hotel Magenta to maybe place a reservation for me. Not only did they make the reservation but also replied to my request in less than an hour! They were also kind enough to offer booking reservations for us at other places if we wanted. This is definitely a hotel that strives to provide great hospitality, and I'd highly recommend to book your stay there. They made a very good impression on us. We have a special thanks to Vittorio, the person who we talked the most and was incredibly nice. Thank you guys!

Great small hotel!

Great location! Quiet but close enough to walk to pretty much anything. Staff and owners are friendly, helpful and there 24/7 if needed. Breakfast was excellent! Cafe bar and fresh fruit. Even had gluten free options. Mini frig in room is complimentary sodas and water. Tony the Golden was a great greeter. Room small but updated and clean. Has an elevator. Would stay again if in Florence!

Fine for the price.

The location is okey, its like 5minuts walk to the train station. The breakfast was well italian i guess. Lots of sweets but lots of choice too. The staff was friendly and they spoke good english. There was a AC in the room and it worked like a charm!

Nice staff and location, but not so comfy rooms.

The location is very good. It is close to the river and city attractions as the same time about 1km away from train station. The staff members were friendly and very responsive. The breakfast was very good. The room is spacious

The room is not well-kept and needs maintenance. The Toilet flush did not work properly, the water in washing sink was clogged but it was fixed quickly. Also, the walls were quite dirty as if not painted for a long time. Additionally, there was some fungi on the wall below the AC device. One of the window shutters was broken, The view is nothing of interesting but walls of another building. The mattresses were soft and not so comfortable. The cleaning service changes the pillow covers, but not the sheets.

Wonderful stay, would stay again

Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was wonderful (I read other reviews where people complained about the breakfast, but we enjoyed it.) The beds were very comfortable. Location is near train station, which was great for us. Overall, wonderful experience.

Had a great experience there, would definitely recommend this property.

The breakfast was amazing a lot of variety. The room I had was a single , very modern & comfortable . The hosts were very helpful with their suggestions on what to see. The location was excellent , 10 minutes walk to station & main centre so it was quiet.

3 Star Property that Will Do, but Needs Sprucing Up

Single room had a cot-like bed. Uncomfortable thin mattress. Windows opened to ugly messy courtyard. Needs paint and sprucing up throughout the property. Terrific friendly helpful staff. Decent breakfast with hot eggs but lousy meats. Bathroom was modern, go figure. Noisy -- you can hear the other rooms doing whatever, and noise in the hallway easily. Not a 4 star property, but a 3 star property. Not worth 730 euros for 4 nights for the quality of the room and decor.

Old fashioned “Moderno”

most of the staff was friendly except a gentleman at the reception who was a bit brusque (not Gabriel). Cleaning ladies nice, breakfast OK.

The hotel is old fashioned and needs a restoration immy. Our room was small, very noisy since the window did not close properly. There was no shelve at the shower! and no space to put our personal items. The ventilation was making a tremendous noise and we didnt use it. The photos dont show the actual situation…

Staying in Hotel Magenta

The room was clean and personnel cleaned the room every day. They changed towels and cleaned the room. We liked it! Our room had no views of the street. But the other side was not bad. But we cannot open the window mostly So, the fresh air wasn't in the room. The personnel helped us when we needed something. Thank you! You can reach every place by walking. It lasted approximately 10-15-20 minutes. We liked it! At night, it was safe to walk.

Good for 1 might if you plan a quick visit of Florance

Its location is excellent, very close to the main attractions. Breakfast was good, plenty of choices. Parking for car is also very close to the hotel.Minibar was completely free.

Room we slept in should be renovated. There were stains on the wall and sign of water leaking on the ceiling in the bathroom. AC was making strange noice all night.

What a wonderful hotel to stay in the staff are exceptional and so helpful and can’t do enough for the guests. The room is very spacious bathroom is compact but spotless.

The location is great, close (10 minutes) to the train station / tram for the airport and slightly off the heavily beaten tourist track. The staff were very friendly and helpful and my room was prepared early which was very nice of them. They also helped a lot with advice for getting around the city. The breakfast was very good and choosing a time made a lot of sense to avoid crowding. The bathroom was great and the room was comfortable and quiet, and I really appreciated the chilled drinks in the fridge on my arrival.

The bedroom was small and felt like a student dorm, not really what I expected for the price, although the bathroom was large in comparison and it was very well-fitted. That being said, the room was comfortable enough and perfectly fine for a one-night stay for one person, and given the location and other advantages I would certainly consider staying again.

A great, yet unexpected find

This place was not our first choice. We originally checked in a different place. Unfortunately, the apartment complex a/c blew up earlier that day with no repair completion date in sight, hence the late night booking of a room in the Hotel Magenta. Despite the initial doubts the stay at the hotel turned out well. The staff were very accommodating. The complementary breakfast was quite decent, as well as the bar service throughout the day. The room / bathroom was very clean, in fact the whole place is well looked after.

Somewhat noisy a/c, but on 40 degrees it does not matter at all as long as it works. Wi-Fi was spotty at times, but the issues were quickly resolved by the staff. Suggestions : it would be nice to install multiple additional usb ports for charging electronic devices.

It was a bit hard to find on arrival so we should have got a taxi at the station, as we decided to walk with luggage, but there was a big queue for taxis. Would recommend pre booking a taxi.

Great location 2 minutes from the River Arno and 10 minutes from Firenze Santa Maria Novello station. Complimentary drinks supplied in the mini bar, and really comfy mattress. Reception kindly gave tips on where to visit and supplied a map. Air con came in very handy!
