City center with a perfect host

Reception host was amazing. So helpful. He fixed an American breakfast the next morning which was superb. Location is right in the center of town. There is free parking overnight. Convenient to everything. Highly recommend.

An absolute gem in the historic center of a gorgeous medieval city, worth the detour!

We enjoyed really stay during a family gathering in the city of Chinon, lovely hotel, very comfortable and with the authentic charm of the region. Breakfast was incredible and the managers and their team absolutely perfect!

Beautiful hotel of character in a perfect location.

The location couldn’t be better and full of character. The rooftop bar was a big plus as was the secure parking on site. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. ALL the staff were very helpful, pleasant and welcoming.

The room itself was a bit tight & small for anything longer than a long weekend (3 days). Also more storage/hanging space in the room would be useful - I.e. coat hooks.

Great location, Comfortable and spacious!

We spent only one night at Chinon and the hotel was perfectly located next restaurants and cafes. The rooms were great and spacious. It was very comfortable and quiet. We had a great stay and would recommend it.

Worth noting theres not an elevator and there are a lot of stairs and steps. It was not a big issue, and staff was very helpful with our luggage, but worth having it in mind.

A wonderful little surprise.

For the price this maybe the best hotel I’ve stayed in. Clean, functional, charming, nice roof bar, right in the centre of town. The public car part of 30 seconds walk and can clear 220 cm

Awesome !

Best western Chinon is bang in the middle of the town,overlooking the main square ,we were fortunate enough to have a room with a small balcony so a Birds Eye view. We would love to revisit as was an overnight stop en route further south,missed the Tour de France by a. day,unfortunately! Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel ,not just for its central location, but the Staff are so friendly and genuinely helpful, even had our car parked for us in the hotel secure parking garage ! Breakfast was a great choice ,of eggs bacon sausage, toast,baguette,croissants,pastries,cheese hams fresh fruit choice of yoghurts,nuts fruit ,coffee tea fruit juice ,plentiful and the cheese was locally sourced and awesome, Beds and linen of good quality and good shower products (ritual ), usual tea coffee water in room,very nice stay and comfortable ! And a delightful roof top bar to cap the night off !

Fantastic location on a charming square

Fantastic location on a charming square filled with restaurants and very close to a parking area and the lifts up to teh castle. We were given a very warm welcome by the staff and our room, though small, was perfectly clean and had everything we needed for a night.

Instructions for finding the hotel could be clearer: I had to ask at the tourist office as the hotel was half hidden behind trees and restaurant umbrellas. We weren't very impressed by breakfast: the selection of fresh fruits, yoghurts etc was poor, it took a long time to clear tables, there were no plates or glasses when we first got there and I had to ask a member of staff to fix the coffee machine. Maybe it was a timing thing, as we came after a large group, and it was about 9.00am on a Sunday morning, but we felt it could easily have been better.

17th century building, right on the main square of town. Terrific location, staff was very pleasant.

Through the booking.com site, it stated that onsite parking was available. Upon arrival, while we did have a confirmed reservation, we did not have a reservation for parking. (the onsite parking was very limited) This required us to find local street parking for the night, and its possible overnight charges. (Staff was helpful explaining this) While this was not the case for us, I feel the booking site could have made it clearer that a parking reservation was required separate of our hotel. UPDATE ON THE PARKING: Through booking.com I received an email directly from the property, asking me if I'd like to make a parking reservation. As it was in French, and I was already into my trip, I did not bother to read it. Had I done so, I would have learned that a reservation for parking was necessary.

Chinon gem

Lovely welcome from the staff, room fresh and very clean. The location was great and overlooking the square was very atmospheric. We were not bothered by any significant noise, just background chatter of people enjoying the facilities which we found pleasant. Breakfast facilities were clean and well organised and offered a good choice. We would not hesitate to stay there again and would recommend it to others
