Convenient, affordable and memorable.

Hotel was easy to find and to park. We were four adults in a family room, which is on the top floor and has an amazing view and a loft with two twin beds. Owner/manager was very welcoming and helpful with excellent English. I really enjoyed having wine and cheese and various snacks on our deck and dinner on site in their restaurant. If you’re traveling with a car, this is a great place to stay to see a lot of the best places in the Loire Valley. Nice and quiet location. The on-site restaurant seemed quite popular and the food was really quite good and reasonably priced.

The stairs to the loft required careful application as they are very steep. As long as I went down backwards, holding onto the rail, I was just fine. Quarters are tight, but there are cubbyholes for bags and such. If you’re not physically fit, you may find all the stairs challenging, but I was fine with it.

The property was surprisingly good for the money, and the location very convenient for Chinon with fantastic elevated views over the countryside.

Bathroom was clean, but other areas lacked attention to detail but overall good.

This is a very nice little hotel in a fine location. Helpful friendly staff. The breakfastwas good and as a group we always overstayed the breakfast timings but were never pressured to move, quite the opposite.

In any circumstance this is a super hotel - wonderful location, spotlessly clean, comfortable rooms, with a fab view from the balcony, plenty of good parking and a really excellent restaurant. In our case we experienced a problem with our classic car that necessitated us working on it during the day. All the staff were concerned with our well being (and that of the car!) throughout, supplying refreshment and encouragement. And, we were able to enjoy a super lunch between work! We now look forward to returning soon, to enjoy it fully without the need to become mechanics!

Wonderful hotel with stunning views

A stunning hill top location, lovely welcoming greeting on arrival and a modern luxurious room. Very peaceful and our room had wonderful views across the Loire Valley. Very comfortable beds and hot shower. Was perfect for our one night pit stop in the area.

If I have to nit pick, liners in the waste bins and heated towel rail in the bathroom would be welcomed.

A family run country hotel in a lovely peaceful location. The restaurant offers a home cooked, seasonal menu with local (Loire valley) wines. Comfortable rooms (if a little small), with tea/coffee and a small balcony. Good access to Peage for travel to/from Caen. Our dog was welcome (charge 12 euros) and had the run of the substantial grounds.

Somewhere to which we will return.

Evening meal excellent. Breakfast very good. On a scorching hot day (43 degrees) we were allowed early access to our room - which had aircon and a much welcomed cold shower.

When booking I assumed the hotel was just across the river from Chinon. It is actually about 3 miles away although that wouldn’t stop us from staying here again.

Accommodation is in a single 3-storey block so, while the individual balconies have nice views, they have little privacy with other balconies above, below and right alongside.

The distance from the room block to the restaurant which was uncovered and meant one needed to put put on outdoor wear to get there.
