Comfortable, friendly and great breakfast.

Maurice does an excellent job at opening his beautiful home. Maurice was welcoming, friendly and entertaining. Breakfast was exceptional, one of best of our trip. Room was beautifully presented and very comfortable. Parking was relatively easy beside the river a very short walk from the property and Maurice provides a parking permit so no need to pay for parking. Location is perfect and provides easy access to Chinon.

Absolutely charming boutique Hotel, small and intimate. Maurice is an absolute perfect host, very welcoming, excellent room. This was our second time staying in this gorgeous hotel. It never fails to be enjoyed. Maurice serves a wonderful beautifully presented breakfast. The rooms are very well thought out with care and attention, bathrooms modern full of character, we will stay, time and time again xx

A special place.

Maurice was such a warm and friendly host. The room was perfect with a comfortable bed. The breakfast was really nice. This was the most memorable stop off on our bicycle tour along the Loire. Also important was the secure garage for our bicycles.

Amazing option in Chinon! Loved our stay.

The host was absolutely charming and so kind. He helped us with parking pre-Tour de France and even carried our bike rack to a parking place he helped arrange. Breakfast was incredibly delicious and all freshly baked and local produce.

Ideal stay in excellent location in perfect little old French city

Maurice could not have been more helpful. We were desperately late: after 10:30, owing to difficulties with charging our electric car. late as it was, Maurice came to the river bank to guide us to his charming old house in a semi-pedestrian part of old Chinon, which must be one of the most delightful and unspoilt small French cities. He then led us to our bedroom at the top of the house, with a view of the castle above us. Breakfast could not have been more copious and delicious, with many home-made breads, yogurt, pastries and fruit, in his plant-filled shady courtyard.

Such a beautiful property, a lot of history in the building. Large bedroom with a large shower. Perfect location and the most amazing home made breakfast ever. Gorgeous courtyard to have breakfast in or you could have breakfast in the stunning dining room. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back next year.

The room was charming and the bedding was very comfortable. The bathroom had all amenities needed. There was even wine, water and snacks available in a common area. Breakfast was delicious and had many options and very friendly service.

The property and rooms are just beautiful! The 2 year renovation was a labor of love More important though is Maurice the host. He cannot do enough for you to make your visit memorable. Chinon is a walkable town. We took advantage of Maurice’s car park since in town parking is difficult.

Great, but plan your parking before arrival

Parking info needs to be given in detail including main street public (paiant) parking before arrival. Google navigation led us to very small parking lot (5 cars, all full) in a "maze."

A delightful surprise in the middle of Chinon!

We stayed 3 nights and during this time enjoyed this B&B for all it had to offer. Our accommodation was very comfortable with a wonderful duvet, air conditioning, and a sizable room and bathroom. Our host Maurice took care of the room every day. Every morning as we left our room, we were greeted with the wonderful smell of baked croissants, which Maurice prepares as part of a sumptuous breakfast. Entering the breakfast room is a treat for the senses, with a grand table setting, background music, and many breakfast choices. I counted at least 6-8 kinds of jams, over 12 varieties of nuts, nut butters, granolas, cereals, dried fruits and more. Breads, fruit, cheeses, hard-boiled eggs, meats, juices…what a delightful smorgasbord! There is also the option to take breakfast on an outdoor patio surrounded by plants and flowers. Maurice helped us with free street parking about a 5-minute walk to the B&B. He also made suggestions that enhanced our visit. He has invested his heart and soul into this B&B and it shows. We would stay here again!
