This place was recommended by a friend and it exceeded my expectations.

Enjoyed my stay at Gasthof Steinerwirt very much. The food in the restaurant was delicious, service was outstanding, too. The breakfast buffet was fantastic. Location is a bit out of town, but there is a bus stop across the street that goes directly into Salzburg.

A great 'piece of Austria' that could be close to faultless.

Stunning location and a real 'Austrian feel' throughout. We had a Junior Suite - fantastic and big space, bathroom amazing, huge TV and the best views from the balcony.

Both at evening meal and breakfast the staff were great, but there weren't enough of them. Even one more member of staff on each shift might be enough but as it was, they were so busy, waiting times and times to refill breakfast food were only just acceptable - not the staff's fault as they were working really hard and very busy.

A great hotel on the outskirts of Salzburg with amazing food.

The room was clean, spacious and had a nice balcony and view. Breakfast was amazing, with lots of different options. There is also an on-site restaurant serving authentic homemade food. It gets 10/10 and is open from 11:30 am, so you can have lunch and dinner there. I would recommend eating there whenever you can. There are also plenty of vegetarian and vegan options at breakfast and in the restaurant.

Some of the rooms have not been renovated yet and still have an old-style design. Nevertheless, the rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable.

Cute Hotel in Alpine

It was super cute and big room in Alpines mountain. We woke up and saw cows in the garden. The lady who working in the restaurant was so kind and friendly. We rented 3 people room and rooms were separated. Breakfast was also so good.

- Friendly staff. Not all of them speak good English but they try their best to help. - The coffee from machine during breakfast was good.

- We ordered 2 rooms and we did not get the rooms nearby - Both the rooms felt very different (even when we booked 2 same room types). One was new and another one had old feel. - The bed was not comfortable. It was creaky and makes sounds when you turn while sleeping. - The pillows were not comfortable. Too thin.

Friendly hotel with very good food

Cosy hotel with excellent breakfast and restaurant. The restaurant seems to be visited from all of the area and we had difficulties in getting a table at one evening (sorted out by the staff within 30 mins, since we were hotel guests). The meat is produced by the farm, which is attached to the hotel. Staff is family friendly, but there are also many couples visiting. Pets are welcome. There is a public bus to Salzburg city centre every 30 minutes, leaving in front of the hotel (Bus No 180 - it takes 40 mins to Salzburg). We felt very welcome and will certainly visit again.

Best location ever

An incredible location in a wonderful area. The Tyrolean charm will make you immediately fall in love with this guesthouse. Very kind staff, incredibly big and beautiful room, huge bathroom as you rarely find even in 5* hotels. The breakfast is varied and very tasty and the local products bringing extra flavor. On-site parking is also a big plus. We couldn't wait to come back here. Thank you Gasthof Steinerwirt !

If you arrive later, it would be very good if the restaurant could be open later than 9:00 p.m.

It is a nice guest house, well located.

It is a nice location, beautiful views and the breakfast is pretty nice.

We booked for an apartment with two double beds but ended up being one double bed and a sofa. There was no previous notification or price reduction neither.

Wonderful stay

Family room is spacious for 4 persons, very clean and in traditional style with good quality. Check in and checkout was fast. Good breakfast with freshly prepared eggs. We enjoyed the restaurant too. They serve local products and we loved the plates, cordon bleu, beef goulash, beef filet, sausage and the fresh mushrooms. Would certainly recommend it.

I would not book there again

location

it was to be a 2 bedroom apartment, 1 bedroom with low ceilings where my husband kept hitting his head, the other “bedroom” was a bed out in the open next to the couch. we also thought that it should have a refrigerator with the apartment to keep some of our fruit and drinks cold.
