Hotel Hebrides

Close to ferry we had to catch which was very early. Room was quite roomy and well presented. Bed was comfy They provided us with a takeaway breakfast as we were going to miss breakfast due to our ferry leaving so early.

Not sure if the bar/bistro (not restaurant) belongs to the same business however when I received the bill for our dinner I noticed we had not been charged for our drinks so I pointed this out to them and the lady had the hide to ask me for a tip. Not happy. There was a fair bit of noise coming from another room early in the evening but it then seemed to settle.

I have eaten and drank at hotel every year over a period of 20 years. First time I have actually stayed and will use hotel again. Very pleasant stay.

When I went down for breakfast the gentleman showed me to my table and asked if I would like tea or coffee. Was given a menu and ordered breakfast. A young lady asked if I would like toast, when the toast arrived she informed me that there was cereal juice etc round the corner (was not originally informed of this) bit slack of the gentleman. I worked in 5 star hotel and informing guests of what’s available is basic stuff.

It was all just lovely. From the personal welcoming letter left for me at the desk, when I arrived from the late ferry, to the impeccable room with lots of thoughtful touches - including a wee dram on arrival, and a fridge - and the superb breakfasts, I enjoyed every minute of my stay here. Breakfast offered an extensive menu - among other things I enjoyed chia pudding with yoghurt and berries, and a wonderful eggs royale. Dinner was Cullen skink, followed by a huge pile of langoustines wih excellent chips. Staff let no-one near the entry flight of steps without immediately offering to help with luggage. I stupidly left my nightdress behind and it was posted straight back to me, beautifuly packaged.

I can't actually think of any criticism.
