Grimisdale Guest House

Carolanne was a wonderful host and it was my great pleasure to stay in her lovely home for 3 nights. Breakfast was delicious and she very kindly made me a packed lunch for my St Kilda day trip. The location was stunning, with lovely views across the water from the guest lounge which was so comfortable! A fabulous stay in this beautiful part of the Isle of Harris, and I will definitely be back one day!

Nothing! Everything was exceptional

Beautiful location. Clean and well-appointed rooms. Great breakfasts. Staff most helpful in making suggestions for places to eat and visit.

All the facilities and furnishings were premium. The breakfast options were great and had good options along with the usual spread. The view from the breakfast room / lounge area is incredible. I couldn’t stop myself from taking out my painting brushes. Special thanks to Anne who was really lovely and kind and made sure we had a comfortable night.

The beds were soft for our liking but would be great if you like soft beds. Room is smallish but comfortable.

We fell madly in love with Harris, and we couldn’t imagine a better base from which to explore it than Grimisdale Guest House. Nestled beside a beautiful loch in Leverburgh, it’s perfectly situated at the end of the spectacular Golden Road and the beginning of the equally breathtaking route along Harris’s west-coast beaches. There’s also a great brewery and restaurant nearby, while Tarbert is an easy 40-minute drive away. The guest house itself is wonderfully cosy and welcoming, with a beautiful terrace overlooking the loch. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with lovely views and a fantastic walk-in shower. Breakfast was delicious, too. Best of all was our host, Carolanne, who couldn’t have made us feel more welcome. We shared plenty of laughs and genuinely felt at home. We had the best time and fell completely under the spell of Harris. I couldn’t recommend Grimisdale Guest House more warmly—we would return in a heartbeat
