The location was perfect as our ferry was re-routed to Lochmaddy instead of Tarbert
The climb up the stairs as there is no lift. However on outer departure the host was incredibly helpful in moving our luggage to the car.

We didn’t take advantage of the included breakfast, but wish we had. We were catching the Berneray-Leverburgh Ferry first thing, and being visitors from Australia, didn’t know how much time to allow.
Having said that, our stay at the LochmaddyHitel was convenient, comfortable, and the restaurant meal options for dinner the night before were great.
Like any accommodation in a hotel (pub) in the UK or Outer Hebrides, the bedrooms are upstairs. While this isn’t a significant issue if you are travelling light, it’s a bit different if you’re away from home for 6+ weeks and have quite a bit of luggage with you. Lugging this upstairs at each and every stay wears thin after a period.
