The food and atmosphere in the restaurant was excellent. The service from all staff was exceptional.

The view from the balcony wasnt the best as it is at the back of the hotel.

The staff were really lovely to us and I appreciated they went out of their way to make our anniversary special by leaving us some nice decorations and card with some chocolates. They were also lovely in the restaurant too.

I was really disappointed with our recent stay. I’ve stayed at this hotel before and previously found the rooms to be fresh, serene, and a good size, with thoughtful touches like bottled water and quality toiletries. The beds were luxurious and very comfortable, which is why I was genuinely looking forward to returning, especially as we had stayed here for our 1st anniversary. On this occasion, we were offered an upgrade to a balcony room, which I accepted — unfortunately, that turned out to be a mistake. The room was located at the back of the hotel and was much smaller than expected. The balcony overlooked an untidy allotment and felt cramped rather than relaxing. The furniture was dated, with dark, scratched wood that reminded me of an old budget hotel. While the bed was large, it was extremely firm, as were the pillows, and I didn’t get a wink of sleep. The walls also seemed paper-thin, as we could hear other guests making noise at around 2am. The bathroom was also quite dated, with a small shower and doors that were difficult to open and close. It was particularly disappointing as this stay was for our 10th anniversary, making it a special occasion for us. Sadly, I had one of the worst nights’ sleep I can remember and left feeling very let down by the room. That said, the location is convenient, with a bus stop nearby for access into town, and the restaurant itself is pleasant. However, there was a long wait for food, and when it did arrive, it was only lukewarm. Overall, this stay did not live up to our previous experience, which is a real shame.

The room was spotless and the hotel is nicely situated for shops .

The parking. The room I was in was noisy from staff I think sitting outside, also there was a container outside my window full of cigarette buts not the ideal thing you want to see.

The staff were exceptional, no request too much and went out of their way to help and assist. They also did so with a smile on their faces and really looked as if they were enjoying their jobs. Massive room with a very comfortable super king size bed. The room and bathroom were clean and warm. The food was very good quality and quantity was just right, also reasonably priced.

Nothing really. If I was to offer any constructive criticism at all- 1. The fridge in the room probably needs to be sitting on a cabinet or table as opposed to the floor. 2. There was a few cosmetic decorating issues especially around the windowsill that need completing. All in all, these points did not distract from the stay and I'm only mentioning them for your information

We stayed for Hogmanay. The dinner in the restaurant was very good as was the service. We enjoyed breakfast the next morning, plenty of choices and hot food cooked to order. . It has parking but limited. A nice little bar area. Our room number 9 was very comfortable and quiet with a big walk in shower. The hotel is walkable to many shops and cafés and on a bus route. There is an elevator to rooms and tea/coffee in the room.

The only disappointment was no free drink for the bells. I also expected better toiletries in the room bathroom. The curtains were a little tired in our room.
