Brilliant but poor customer management and retention

It was fabulous and they catered for our allergies by producing a menu

They charged a late check out charge with no consultation and had not advised check out time when we checked in as room wasn’t ready

The bathroom was so cold ( January in Aberdeen )we elected to wait until we got home to shower . Also we arrived at 1pm for an official 3pm check in time and -despite the room being ready and available - were charged an extra £25 to get access . When we complained we were told it was in the `”small print “ of the conditions on line .

Comfortable and welcoming and represented very good value.

Friendly and helpful staff throughout, breakfast was well organised with good choices of cooked items and fresh fruit, cereals etc. The restaurant and bar areas are very accessible from within the overall hotel environment which has quite a homely feel.

Annoying going outside!

We didn't like that you had to outside to gain access to the Function Suite our event was being held in! I hadn't taken a jacket as assumed staying in the same Hotel as the Event, I wouldn't require one!

A nice hotel not far from the city centre

A lovely big room and the staff were very friendly and nice.

The room was quite noisy from the wind outside. Not much you can do about that though.

Functional but expensive

Location is excellent and the building has lots of character.

I didn’t have a bath in the bathroom which was a surprise. The room lacked character but the facilities were fine. Lovely check in experience.

I’m a regular guest Front of house the two ladies WOW ! Could show the whole hospitality industry how it’s done. Chef is excellent ! Only down side for me is the hotel promotes a gum but !!!! Don’t bother or extend it ! Not a bonus to staying at the hotel … poor

Luxurious and relaxed

Lovely greeting when we arrived. The room was great and the staff on reception were very freindly. We had a nice chat after we went out. The bar is very relaxed, beautifully decorated. The art work really sets the bar off to a t.

Breakfast, dinner and coffee were all excellent. Staff very polite and professional. Loved the decor…and great to have an electric plug close to a mirror for hair drying.

Ideal couple of night stay for a comfortable city break

Very comfortable bed in a pleasant room with everything you could want. Breakfast was excellent and the evening meal was superb. Staff are all very professional, well trained and easy to speak to. A thirty minute walk to the city centre from this quiet area is enjoyable.

The décor and facilities in the room were very good, as is the décor throughout the hotel. It was clear that the hotel responded well to our special request - and we were pleased about that.

The staff were not quite at the level I expected. I thought the breakfast was a little limited given the pricing of the hotel.

My husband, Sturg, and I had the absolute pleasure of staying at The Chester Hotel while traveling around Scotland, and we cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience. Prior to our visit, I had reached out by email to let them know we would be celebrating our 8th wedding anniversary. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with such warmth and care. A very kind gentleman, Emmanuel, discreetly informed us that he had upgraded our room to a suite in honor of our anniversary. He personally escorted us, assisted with our luggage, and made us feel truly special. Later, while we were at dinner, Emmanuel surprised us with a handwritten card and a box of chocolates waiting in our room — such a thoughtful touch that meant so much to us. The suite itself was stunning, spacious, and perfectly comfortable. We ended the evening with a nightcap at the hotel’s stylish bar before retiring to our beautiful room. The next morning, breakfast was a highlight with an excellent selection of both hot and cold dishes, along with a variety of drinks — everything was fresh and delicious. The service throughout our stay was flawless, and it’s clear that the staff take pride in making guests feel welcome. We’ve already decided that our next trip to Aberdeen will absolutely include a longer stay at The Chester Hotel. We’ll be recommending this gem to all our friends and family who travel. Thank you again, Emmanuel, for helping make our anniversary truly unforgettable!

Lovely place, clean with gorgeous decor,right up to date

Paid extra for a suite for my husband's 60th, had an outdoor patio area which we couldn't use due to the constant noise of the kitchen extractor fan( I presume) heard it all night also! Most annoying! Ordered a side of baby potatoes with my evening meal which the waitress forgot to put through, my main was almost finished before they finally came, we got a reduction off the final bill which softened the blow.

Undoubtedly the most relaxed hotel visit we have had in Scotland.

The relaxed helpful staff. From our initial reception and throughout our stay all the staff added to our feeling of relaxtion. The rang of comfortable bars and eateries. The quality of the catering. Our room was a good size and well furbished. The location is superb in a beautiful part of Aberdeen. It makes an ideal base for seeing the city and probably for exploring the wider NE.

The room we were in 95 I think Was tired, The shower Taps were loose The runner for the shower door was not clean at all Cracks in the walls, Basic hygiene missing at breakfast the milk jars on the tables were not cleaned after guests left the table they were just topped up The waitress cleaning the tables and bits of food dropped on the floor then proceeded to top up the bread basket with her bare hands which had just been tidying up, Not a fan of the buffet style breakfast as food had been sat under the heat lamps for some time and were dry Disappointed with our stay

Very friendly staff on check in. Room was a good size and well set up, bathroom a little tired with crumbling plaster but fridge with milk was a nice touch. Bar staff were excellent and breakfast worked well, the cook to order chef was very patient with my children.

Very nice, upscale boutique hotel with great furnishings, staff and restaurant.

Loved this boutique property. It is very well decorated and has amazing artwork. We wished we had been in Aberdeen longer and would have liked to stay longer.

A very pleasant stay in a very pleasant hotel.

The quality of the bedrooms and bathrooms was very good, very clean and in good decorative order. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The restaurant served very good evening meals and excellent breakfasts. The bar was comfortable and welcoming with a good range of drinks. It was very quiet at night as the location was outside the main city centre but an easy taxi drive into the city, (it was also walkable, I am guessing about 20-30 minutes).

Very minor points for improvement would have been a wardrobe door that closed properly and I was not keen on the black decor.
