On the whole it was good but the noise was really unacceptable

Every one was very nice. Have stayed at the Athol many times. Mostly birthdays and also wakes.

The noise from air in the pipes was horredous at night time every time the toilet was flushed or the water tap was turned on. Did complain about it twice But nothing was done

Relaxing stay during a strsssful time helped by kindness shown from all the staff

Lovely welcoming homely feel / very comfy beds and such nice caring staff members from manager to reception to waiting staff to housekeeping who have been so kind and lovely to my sister and family when her hubby admitted to hospital with medical issues - nothing too much bother for them and always asking how you were and how he was doing - lovely breakfast / meals / great value and you just need to see the number of locals using this for meeting for coffee / meals / special events to realise how special the hotel and staff are - well done all 👏

A very well appointed hotel - easy to see why it is a 4*. Staff were excellent throughout my stay, and the breakfast was freshly cooked and plentiful. Hotel was also quiet.

If I were to be picky, I'd expect a 4* to possibly have a larger TV in the room. the route to the room was quite convoluted, though easy enough to (if you had good mobility).

A solid stay for the price but would pay that bit more for a better night's sleep

Staff were as polite and accommodating as ever. Room was nice and clean if a bit dated. Cooked breakfast was spot on.

The mattress wasn't particularly comfortable. It seems to be a thing here as I had the same experience last time I stayed.

Very comfortable, clean accommodation in a quiet area of the city but easily accessible. Staff are very professional yet super friendly,recognising repeat customers (of which there are many!) Food in the restaurant/bar is of a high standard, using local produce wherever possible.

An hotel with character, good location, excellent dining facilities and friendly staff

Large well appointed room with plenty spare electrical sockets for recharging phones/Tablets. Good choices for breakfast served by friendly staff. Dinner with friends there was extremely good for choice, quality and price. Have used the restaurant before and would not hesitate to do so again. Power operated doors and ramps greatly improve access to those with mobility issues and luggage.

The recessed handbasin in the bathroom would benefit from having a light and mirror above it. The car park is large but the hotel is extremely popular and busy with non-residents making the parking process a little challenging especially at meal times.

A very friendly welcome. Dinner & beer in the bar was very nice with friendly staff. The christmas trees & decorations all around the hotel were fabulous. Room very clean, comfortable & spacious. Car park is huge.

Facilities are somewhat outdated, location is a bit remote from places of interest you will need a car. WiFi signal was very poor in my room and in public areas. Insufficient to do a video call or watch a movie.

Lovely hotel, staff and breakfast.

My room (No. 7) was very clean and comfortable, but a little bit noisy. I don't know if the sound was coming from outside, or a generator within the hotel. It certainly would not stop me staying there again however as I am very fond of the Atholl.

Lovely well kept hotel in a nice area of Aberdeen. Close to the city centre and with plenty parking. Nice quiet rooms and the breakfast was just a treat. Will definitely be back.

There was no resident’s lounge and it was difficult to chat to family as there was only a bar and a dining room.

Lovely hotel, never disappoints.

Great food. Breakfast is good value and bar meals excellent. The same staff greet you every time we stay which is a good sign. Friendly and welcoming. Good beds and in a lovely quiet part of town. We love this hotel.

Nothing to dislike. If picky the decor in the rooms is starting to need a refresh. Bathrooms could do with upgrade (I'd lose the high sided baths and replace with showers!). It is up for sale though and hopefully new owners will invest in some refurbishment without losing the charm of this Aberdeen gem.

Location of Hotel was a 30 minute walk to centre of the city… easy enough on a nice day ..

To be fair,we have no complaints, Hotel was exactly what it said on the tin.
