It was enjoyable to stay in Umbria Hotel. I felt safe, comfortable, very well taken care of.

I needed to avoid going up lots of steps. The manager was able to switch me to a ground floor room..which was so much better! The lobby had a gracious vibe. I met 2-3 people or couples who were up for a short chat. I felt comfortable sitting there and talking quietly. Breakfast was varied and rather basic but met my need. The tea was quite tasty (sometimes tea can be dull)

Thoroughly enjoyed

Highly recommend. The rooms were clean, the staff were friendly and went out of their way to help us out! Location is great! Lots of signage to help you find it. Warm croissants in the morning were an added bonus!

Perfect location in old walled city of Perugia. Room was reasonable size and very clean with great bathroom. Breakfast, especially coffee and juice and croissants for €4 was brilliant. Friendly staff

So close to everything, staff were amazing.

Sadly we were here during a heatwave and AC is not allowed due to city restrictions. It was sooo hot. There is a fan but that’s just moved hot air.

Excellent!

Location is right at the heart of Perugia. Perfect. This is a two-star hotel, which met our needs. No air-conditioning, but we knew that. We didn't expect temeratures of 37C! Breakfast fine for us - we don't do full English. We would stay there again.

Tiny shower cubical - I had trouble fitting in!

Great small hotel in the old city

The location was great, near restaurants and sights in the historic centre. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a large TV, fridge, hairdryer, etc. - everything we needed. The breakfast was really good, especially for the price. The staff were absolutely amazing, so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We would definitely stay there again if we return to Perugia.

Decent stay in the hearth of Perugia

Excellent location, not a fancy accommodation but that was expected. If you're driving, ask for parking! The hotel offers parking permits at a decent price, although this is not mentioned.

Not necessarily bad, but good to mention that the hotel is not open 24h, so you may want to ask the owner to keep the room key if you plan to stay out a bit longer during the night. We also suffered from heat, rooms have fans that might help but not quite.

Very good

Nice place at the top of Perugia. It's a two stars (**) hotel, so please don't assume this will be a palace. Staff is super friendly and always at the desk (also during the night), so there is always a personal welcome when you enter. I loved the bed, the mattress was comfy and not too soft for my taste. The bathroom was small and a bit worn down (e.g. shower cabin leakages fixed with silicone), but fully functional. There is a daily room service, cleaning everything and fixing your bed. And changing towels (@hotel owner: you could easily put up signs to tell guests to drop used towels on the floor to indicate they want them changed - by default, towels then would remain in use). Have not tried breakfast.

In our room, the bathroom was behind the bed. But the adjacent room's bathroom was also on this side of the wall and one could hear people speaking/flushing their toilet. Woke me up at 3am.

We had a great stay at Hotel Umbria. The hotel was perfect - comfortable room, quiet and brilliantly located close to sites of interest and places to eat. Owner/managers could not have been more friendly and helpful. Perugia a good base from which to explore nearby towns, with easy metro link from the old town to railway station.

A holiday of discovery – Perugia is a treasure house of art and architecture.

The hotel was small, traditional, comfortable, and unassuming. The location – on a quiet, steeply sloping street near the main square – was ideal. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

No complaints – the hotel (indeed Perugia!) is not suitable for the mobility-impaired, as the climbs are extremely steep.

Unfortunately the hotel is located on a hilly alley and one of our party has mobility issues. The hotel has no elevator since it is in a medieval building.so climbing the stairs for this person was tiresome. I suggest that they inform beforehand that hotel is not suitable for ppl with mobility issues.

Location is very central in old city centre near restaurants etc. Hotel service was good and they were very helpfull. Few minutes away there is an escalator that takes you to a Mini Metro station/service which takes you to the train station. From the train station (Perugia station) you can travel around to different locations nearby.
