While there were some positives about our stay, most aspects were largely disappointing and made the booking not worth i

The room itself was aesthetic and looks good at first glance. The receptionist and cleaning staff were kind and generally helpful.

The main issue was being charged for roses and towel swans that we did not request. We were told a refund would be processed, however over three weeks later there has still been no update or refund received. Several facilities were also not as advertised or not functioning properly. Two out of three hot-tub features did not work, and part of the tub was broken on the side. The toilet was not clean upon arrival, with toilet paper left inside and a mostly used toilet roll on the holder. The TV did not support SharePlay, an issue the hotel is already aware of and that other guests have mentioned in previous reviews. Despite raising this on our first day, we only received a response on our last evening. This rendered the TV useless as the free to air TV was all in Dutch, and my partner and i only speak english. We also went most of the stay without certain amenities listed on Booking.com, such as bathrobes. When they were finally provided, they were poor quality (holes/falling apart) and barely fit. Other, smaller issues include the quality of the room itself - nails sticking out of walls, big dip in the middle of the bed. And despite the room having convenient black out blinds, there was a router right above the bed which was very bright and disturbing when trying to sleep.

Beautiful room but not what we were anticipating.

The room was absolutely stunning. The location was good. Easy to get into Amsterdam Centraal. One of the receptionists waited for us to arrive past the check in time. We were unaware there was a check in time so that was lovely. The room was set up beautifully for my birthday. We were also given late check out free of charge as we were unaware of the hot tub not working.

The light switches are so confusing to use. We were never told about any maintenance issues but when we stayed there we were unable to use the hot tub as a hot tub. We had to use it as a bath instead.

can't fault this hotel at all staff is super helpful and friendly allowed us to leave luggage at hotel before check in time so wouldnt have to carry every where. also allowed us to check in early.

Very disappointing

Zandaam town is lovely

The smell in the building is so so bad! The Saturday night was so loud and busy with clubs around, some warning would have been nice as could not sleep from noise at 3am. The lighting in the room is so bad can’t see anything. The restaurant below had rude staff who wouldn’t serve a bottle of water because they had closed only 2 mins prior, and vending machine was empty. Overall I would not stay here again.

AC was not strong at all, constantly trying to aghast or so it was stronger but to no avail. Can’t complain too much as it cools down at night in summer and we spent alot of our time during the day out of the hotel. Windows open too which helps with the breeze and draft

nice but a bit too expensive for what it is

the hotel itself is very pretty and modern, it has the restaurant and cafe downstairs which is nice. zaandam on weekdays is a bit empty and don’t expect to be able to eat out late.

we got to our suite (even after our supposed arrival hour) and it wasn’t cleaned at all. the employee working on the reception told us she would clean it herself and that it would be ready in 20 minutes. it was okay but it’s not what i would expect with the price we payed. also, we didn’t get any bathrobes and the place itself, outside the room, was a sauna!!! our “jacuzzi” was just a big bathtub with lights.

Two flights of stairs to get to my room. The staff did help me carry my very large suitcase when checking in. Staff aren’t around after 9pm.

Never ever again

We wanted to stay for 2 nights, but couldn’t sleep because the bar downstairs was playing music until 2:30. The second night there was a party outside the hotel which we were not informed about by the hotel upfront. We had to leave in the middle of the night as the situation was bit tolerable and sleeping simply not possible. All we got as response from the hotel was this: „As you can see in previous reviews, you can read that several people have suffered from noise nuisance. Unfortunately, this is not the best hotel for a quiet overnight stay, as the hotel is right in the center.“ What other purpose than a quite overnight stay does a hotel have? I recommend everyone to never book a night at this hotel!

The room and place was amazing and great location in Zaandam, close to metro and attractions. Let bed the coffee machine in the lobby and the room/bathroom was stunning

Quite a bit of street noise being in the restaurant street of Zaandam but also expected I guess. A little annoying having to ask for the coffee beans to be topped up, empty the ground beans as well as top up the water almost everyday, this was only annoying as there is staff everyday that could manage that in the lobby. The wifi could be better

Good

Room was nice and spacious, and hotel in a good area next to many restaurants and retail shops. An easy 10 minute walk to the train station, even with luggage.

The shower had absolutely no privacy. There were no coffee/tea facilities in the room. There's a coffee machine in reception that you can use, but there's no milk available and no fridge even if you bought your own milk. Also the stairs are very narrow and steep, not great for big luggage.

the pillows are to hard to sleep on and nfortunately we were traveling with some big and heavy luggages there is no elevator to go upstairs so we had to lifted our luggages upstairs by ourselves.

Poor

Large room luckily with a couch where my daughter had to sleep since no bed was provided for her.

They accepted a reservation for 3 (2adults 1child) but provided a baby cot where my daughter didn't fit plus it contained a wood plank with a towel to cover it (no kidding). Drain completely clogged (never fixed). Room never cleaned and receptionists extemely loud during afternoon. No one at the reception from 9pm to past 11 in the morning.

Room size.. and Staff were very helpful and do whatever they can.

- no elevators.. so many tight stairs. - noise from the street on weekends until early morning. - room cleaning service is not frequent. - open shower area to the room. No privacy. - taxis or cars does not reach the hotel. They will drop you / pick you up from nearest place they can park. It is so annoying when u have more luggage to roll or it is raining. - no proper maintenance in the rooms. First room AC was not working, second room wash basin mixer was leaking.

The staff was very kind and professional. The location was awesome. There were a lot of bars and restaurants nearby that we could walk to. The train station was our main use of transportation and it helped that it was close to the hotel especially after a long day of walking.
