Guesthouse Czaar Peter

The location was walking distance to the Zaandam train station. The landlord was very helpful and attentive. Easy access. If on a limited budget, good choice.

It was a room for 3 of us, with no kitchen shared or otherwise. There was a microwave in the hallway that we could listen to others in the building use. Lugging my equipment up and down the steep stairs was a challenge. When the landlord was there, he was helpful about taking stuff up/down. (We were there for sports training and vacation.) There was NO storage space for personal items. The decor was interesting. The floors and such could have been a bit cleaner. The host had a sense of humor that I did not appreciate.

Excellent location for travel to Zaandam, well connected to the airport and to Amsterdam. The neighbourhood is very charming. The host is very friendly and available, easy to reach for questions and helpful.

As a non-smoker, I found the smell of cannabis lingering in the house a bit unpleasant. The cleanliness was okay but as to be expected with a shared bathroom, not always perfect.
