I absolutely loved my stay here. From the moment I arrived, it felt safe, warm, and truly like home. The hostel itself looks like one of the iconic Zaandam “Lego houses” — so charming and picture-perfect from the outside! . My favorite part was definitely the private bathroom — super clean, comfortable, and such a luxury for a hostel. The rooms were beautifully decorated, the curtains added this cozy touch, and everything felt quiet, calm, and protected I also loved that the room had a perfect mirror setup — amazing for the girlies who want to do their makeup or fix their hair before heading out. Such a thoughtful touch! It’s the kind of place where you can relax, unwind, and feel genuinely taken care of. I would happily stay here again and recommend it to anyone who wants comfort, safety, and a homely vibe while travelling. 💛

Great location, overnight parking nearby free from evening to morning restricted hours. Quick check in. Clean and comfortable.

As elderly struggled with spiral staircase to first floor and difficulty worse carrying bags. Once registered and given entry codes did not see reception to ask for assistance. Had to park car around corner and take the challenge of balancing with one hand holding tightly onto stair rail as negotiating steps and pulling bags. We made it but a treacherous experience, same on departure! Well worth the effort as a very comfortable bed and clean en suite shower room.

My stay at this hostel was extremely disappointing and uncomfortable, mainly because of the rude and unprofessional behavior of the owner and the poor condition of the facilities. During my stay, the owner saw on the security cameras that I was kissing someone. Instead of ignoring it or approaching the situation in a normal, respectful way, he came up to me in an angry and condescending tone and gave me a “warning” that “sex is not allowed.” This comment was completely inappropriate, disrespectful, and unprofessional. We did absolutely nothing wrong, yet we were treated as if we had done something terrible. His attitude was childish, unfriendly, and controlling, which made me feel completely unwelcome. To make matters worse, he later called me over to identify myself in a tone that felt as if he was calling a dog — short, commanding, and without any respect. It was genuinely humiliating, especially considering that I had already checked in earlier that day, and his colleague (possibly his father or brother) had already verified my ID in the system. It felt as though he didn’t trust me or even believed I didn’t belong there. The facilities were also far below standard. The beds were uncomfortable and way too small — whenever I turned my head, it would hit the wall. The toilets and showers were dirty and poorly maintained, and the whole place felt neglected. Getting a good night’s sleep was impossible, and the overall level of cleanliness was unacceptable. All in all, this stay was a complete disaster. The combination of a rude, unprofessional owner, poor hygiene, and lack of comfort makes this hostel something I would absolutely not recommend. Hospitality, respect, and basic decency should be the foundation of any accommodation — but here, all of that was missing. In short: if you’re looking for a clean, friendly, and respectful place to stay, avoid this hostel.

The staff was kind

I stayed on the top bunk and the bed was very comfortable and the curtains provided privacy. On the other hand, my friends stayed on the ground floor, and since there were two mattresses on top of each other, the bed sank in the middle and they say it was super uncomfortable.

Besides the mattresses... Next to one of the beds was a disgusting heater, with a pile of trash. We were promised a kitchen and a terrace, but there wasn't one. The staff put their feet up on the counter and were never at the reception desk, nor could anyone call them. Overall, the atmosphere was a bit strange.
