Spacious, quiet apartment in the heart of Avignon, with great view from the large rooftop terrace

This is a wonderful spacious apartment in the heart of Avignon, 10 min walk from the train station, very clean and quiet. Kitchen is exceptionally well equipped. The large rooftop terrace is magnificent, with almost all-around view over the neighborhood and towards the cathedral. The host is very helpful and can offer lots of tips and recommendations on how to explore the area.

Avignon with its surrounding towns, Roman ruins, museums and wineries was a great place to visit.

Very spacious, well equipped, well located apartment - with a huge terrace and a very kind and helpful host. It was perfect.

Parfait.

A lovely apartment with everything I needed, so well-equipped. The location was perfect with the Palace of Popes and the Rhone a short distance to walk. The roof terrace was perfect with stunning views of the Palace of Popes at sunset 🧡 Bertrand, the owner, was friendly and helpful and put up with my attempts to converse in French. I definitely plan a second visit.

I loved everything. The fantastic views from the apartment mean a climb of many stairs so those with poor mobility may struggle but I have found this to be the case on my travels in France - who on earth would want to see lifts installed in these wonderful authentic French buildings!

Spacious, clean, very well appointed apartment close to everything and, best of all, a private rooftop terrace with outdoor shower. Fabulous! PS Bertrand is an amazing host who shared much knowledge about the area.

Perfect place to stay to explore Provence

We chose Bertrand’s place to base ourselves for 20nights to explore Provence without a car. A la Terrasse was perfect, a lovely authentic older style French apartment boasting fabulous views. It is spacious, comfortable and well equipped and is located within easy walking distance to everything Avignon, Villeneuve les Avignon and Barthelasse Island has to offer. The train/bus stations are a 10 min walk for transport to other villages ( I’ Isle Sur La Sorgue, Pont du Gard) and cities ( Arles, Nimes, Marseille). The host Bertrand was excellent with his advice and recommendations. Travel Tips- a)Bring Insect repellent as mosquitoes are rife throughout Provence b)Highly recommend doing the Avignon Gourmet Walking Food Tour when you first arrive to get a feel for this beautiful city.

Nothing . Several reviews mention the stairs as a negative: however, we as a couple in our mid 60’s early 70’s found them no problem at all with a 10kg each carry on. For those with big heavy suitcases it might be wiser to unpack at the bottom of the stairs and do several trips.

Amazing apartment, beautiful city!

Incredible apartment - spacious and comfortable and prime location! An easy walk away from many shops, restaurants, and activities/museums. Bertrand greeted us with a bottle of wine and water and also brought us some croissants when we were checking out. Take advantage of his website and local knowledge - he is truly a gem and told us about some amazing stuff to do! The apartment has a gorgeous terrace that overlooks the Pope's Palace - highly recommend for a little happy hour! Lots of friendly and local shops to purchase provisions for a lovely rooftop evening.

Some things are closed Sundays in small cities in France. Just be mindful of this and research your activities ahead of time and book your restaurants early!

Exceptional

Location was great - you could walk everywhere easily. 2 museums opposite, nothing far away. Bertrand was an excellent host - nothing too much trouble. He knew the town and area very well and was able to advise and answer any questions. Above and beyond the call of duty - to save us searching for a shop the first evening he made a special trip to bring filter papers and coffee round.

The sofa bed was not very comfortable to sit on, probably fine to sleep on.

Perfect location, private roof terrace, great host and excellent value for money.

Bertrand was an excellent host, very responsive to any queries before our stay and gave us lots of useful info when we arrived. The apartment was in a great location, handy for everything and had everything we needed in it. Having the private roof terrace was the best thing. (picture is the view from the terrace). Excellent value for money.

Die Wohnung ist sehr liebevoll gestaltet, man fühlt sich sofort wohl. Ausgestattet ist sie mit allem, was man braucht und sogar noch mehr. Sehr durchdacht und umsichtig. Einfach toll. Und der Blick von der schönenDachterrasse ist spektakulär. Dem Vermieter merkt man an, dass es ihm sehr wichtig ist, dass sich die Gäste wohl fühlen. Super Empfehlungen gibt’s dazu. Lloc perfecte per gaudir d'Avignon

Apartament molt ben ubicat, súper complet (roba de llit, productes de neteja, etc... i cuina!!!). Bernard, l'amfitrió, molt atent i amb detalls de rebuda molt bonics.

Només un detall: la bomba de calor no funcionava a plena potencia, i a ple hivern el menjador restava un pèl fred.
