There was always a record on the turntable and the collection of vinyl is to die for.

Great hot and cold breakfast options. Friendly staff. Friendly guests. Good recommendations for sights to see. The location couldn't have been better for us. The decor of the b&b was lovely as well.

One night we had noisy guests rooming above us. Not the fault of the B&B, some guests just lack the consideration of others. No other complaints!

Everything you want from a B&B - loved it!

The Stop was excellently located in Galway's West End, very clean and comfortable, with delicious breakfast options, a stylish and thoughtful aesthetic and welcoming, attentive and helpful staff. We stayed for just under a week and Russell ensured that we never left for the day without a plan of things to do, and never without recommendations for snacks, coffee, lunches, dinners and music. We would strongly recommend it to anyone visting Galway and/or the surrounding countryside like Connemara National Park, the Aran islands and the Burren.

There's very little I can think of that could have been better - the only tiny thing I can think of would be that an extra hook or two in the bathroom would have helped with drying our towels!

Russell was the perfect host. Very knowledgeable about the area and had great travel suggestions. They had an excellent breakfast. Lots of great artwork at The Stop. Everything in town was walkable. Had everything we needed.

We loved how close this place is to the city, how friendly the staff are and how cosy and nice the place is.

We loved the bedroom decor, beds were comfortable, room was cosy and warm and loved having an en-suite. We loved how friendly the staff were and how everything was explained to us. We also appreciated being able to fill up our flask with hot water and leave our car in the car park for a little bit longer. I really appreciated that the staff were able to toast the bread I brought with me due to dietary requirements and that they also informed me about some of the food they have that I may be able to eat.

We didn’t realise that the bedroom or the common room didn’t have a TV. It would have been appreciated if the room had a TV or if it was made clearer that it didn’t. We didn’t like that the room didn’t have tea making facilities, especially if we wanted a late night cup of tea and didn’t want to have to leave the room. We are very used to b+bs having a fry as part of the breakfast so my dad was very shocked when there wasn’t a simple fry in the menu, such as something with sausage. There was some confusion with the staff over my dad’s breakfast, we realised they must not have read the order we wrote down the night before. When my dad asked for toast he wasn’t offered what type of bread and the staff member buttered his toast already, usually not an issue but would be for some people.

Extremely small room for three guests with an absolutely tiny bathroom. Made it quite an uncomfortable stay. I would suggest not staying here if you are a party of three. It also felt expensive given the size of the bedroom, and the fact it was not in the centre of town.

Great place with modern amenities and relaxing vibe

The Stop was the perfect place for us to stay for our four nights in Galway. It was within walking distance of the city center, clean, had a relaxing vibe, and was quiet. Communication between the hosts was top notch and breakfast was over the top; so delicious with a wide variety of tasty options. We loved the record player and selection of albums / music played during breakfast, suggestions of what to do each day, proximity to nearby coastal towns including Connemara region, Aran Island Ferry and Cliffs of Moher, and the nightlife which was really happening since we were there during race and art festival week. Everyone was super friendly and kind. I also appreciated that they had a fan in the room to help cool it down.

Lovely stay with lovely hosts

The hosts are fantastic and give really solid recommendations that never steered us wrong! The B&B itself is beautifully designed, the parking was great, communication was great and so was breakfast! 10/10 for the blackout curtains!

I’m sure this is noted somewhere, but I was surprised how tiny our room was. It had everything we needed and got the job done, but there wasn’t much space to spread out. Another note (and I find this with most if not all B&Bs), but you definitely hear people coming and going. This meant falling asleep to neighboring chatter and waking up to folks leaving early. Not a big deal, but worth noting if you are a light sleeper.

Firstly, Russell was a fabulous host…..such a lovely guy! The decor in The Stop was great…..it was stylish but also very comfortable. Lovely, more imaginative selection at breakfast. The room was small but very comfortable with great bed and shower. The location is perfect for access to the best pubs and restaurants but away from the noise of the centre. Also great location for walking out to Salthill.

Great location with walking distance to the Latin Quarter and the West End. Staff was very helpful and gave advice on nearby attractions. They had a great made-to-order breakfast. Rooms are nice and cozy. A lot of stairs.
