There was nothing we didn't like. It was truly amazing. We might just point out that the breakfast staff may wish to coordinate to make sure they cover the guests by language.

An absolute secret. The most exclusive private place at an most average rate on this beautiful island 10’ from Ascona by taxi or public boat. Beautiful interior design with attention to every little detail in this most historic building. Lovely beach towels and color assorted umbrellas, in case it would rain. Exquisite assortiment of high class teas in addition to the standard nespresso in the room. An outstanding restaurant with most attentive, personalized service with prime quality delicious food, just for the hotel guests. You feel like a queen. Bravo to the team. Just hope it stays a secret.

Idyllic place for special moments

The location is very romantic and easy to reach by boat from Ascona or Locarno. We enjoyed the dinner and breakfast at the hotel, interesting combination of the ingredients and very nice presentation. The staff is nice and helpful.

Very nice location on a paradise island. Small hotel with a good restaurant and breakfast. The room was very nice with breathtaking views. In total the atmosphere was lovely, also in the evening and at night. Also possibility to swim in the lake.

Even though the dinner was delicious the service at the restaurant was quite slow and not as friendly as we expected.

Superb place to stay

If you are looking for a short/weekend stay, you cannot do better than the Brissago islands-and this hotel. Hosted on a small island, as part of the botanical garden, the hotel is an old villa with only a bunch of charming, well-designed rooms. Restaurant is pretty amazing, and breakfast-really worth your while. Very, very friendly, helpful staff speaks a number of languages.

Amazing place, unique experience. The staff is very friendly. Wine selection from the region was nice and with a good price.

Breakfast could have more menu options and freshly prepared items like fresh juices, fruit salad, pastries. The tasting menu we had for dinner was a bit too creative, complicated...very beautiful dishes but too many flavors together.

Botanical garden on an island- a dream!

Location, dinner, garden was great. Can recommend for a weekend stay. They have a small steamer for clothes in the room!

In the room is was cold (heating was up). Water in the bathroom shower was staying on the floor while showering (something wasn’t letting the water through).

Fantastically looked after in an outstanding location.

Beautiful and special location on the island. The food was outstanding, and excellent, friendly and attentive service. The island can get busy with day visitors, but the exclusive use tarrace areas for hotel guests was very welcome. Rooms were simple but stylish and very comfortable.

Ein Ort, wo sich Geschichte, Natur und Ruhe in der Natur zusammenkommen - Max Emmden Villa: Genial.

Wunderbare Lage, perfektes Menü Gastro, sehr freundliches Personal, Zimmer sehr sauber, modern, jedoch Sonnenseite sehr warm, Kühlung war nicht ausreichend. Morgenessen perfekt. Nächstes Mal Sonnenseite abgewendetes Zimmer buchen.

Hätten gerne Kühlschrank, kleine Bar, Getränke im Zimmer gehabt, da mehr als 25 Grad auch wahrend der Nacht. Etwas zu wenig Salonmöbel im Parterre, da lässt sich noch viel machen.

Paradiesiche Nacht auf einer der schönsten Schweizerinseln

Einmalig auf dieser Insel praktisch allein zu übernachten nach einem Gourmet-Abendessen das Geschichten erzählte ( Gault Millau 14) und vielleicht dem schönsten Park auf Schweizerboden, den man abends und morgens praktisch für sich alleine hat. Ein Riesenkompliment an den Koch und die Verwaltung dieses Paradieses. Geht hin!

Schlichter Luxus - ein tolles Erlebnis

Wir haben eine Nacht in der Villa Emden verbracht. Das Personal (Hotel und Restaurant) war sehr freundlich. - Wir hatten eine Eckzimmer, was sehr gemütlich war. Die Zimmer sind sehr schlicht für den Preis, aber für uns hat das Gesamtpaket (Garten, Aussicht und Feeling) absolut gepasst. - Das Frühstück war absolut excellent und vielseitig Für uns war der Aufenthalt ein schönes Erlebnis, das wir nun von unserer Hotel-Bucket-List streichen können.

Das Abendessen war sehr gut. Jedoch konnte ich aufgrund meiner Schwangerschaft und Allergien (was ich alles vorangemeldet hatte) nur sehr wenig vom Menu essen. Mir wurde erst nach einem kurzen Hin und Her mit der Küche eine Vorspeise gekocht, die ich essen konnte. Das fand ich etwas schade, insbesondere, da ich dem Hotel 1.5 Wochen im Voraus diesbezüglich (Allergien und Schwangerschaft) geschrieben hatte. Das Essen, das ich dann hatte (1 Vorspeise und 1 Hauptgang) war aber excellent.

Wunderschöne Insel, ehrwürdiges Gebäude, ein Traum für jeden Botaniker Super Essen von einem sympathischen, talentierten Koch! Ein echter Gourmetkünstler!

Es gibt tagsüber sehr viele Besucher im botanischen Garten und im Restaurant und dann ist die kleine Insel schnell überlaufen Die Zimmer sind klein und bei schlechtem Wetter wirds hier schnell eng.

Mi è piaciuto molto la gentilezza e l'accoglienza da parte di tutto il personale, molto gentile, disponibile e cordiale facendoci sentire come a casa propria. Il personale della sala e della cucina è fantastico e la signora delle pulizie è sorridente anche di domenica mattina, mentre lo chef un vero artista, difficile chiedere meglio. L'arredamento è essenziale ma raffinato, la pulizia e l'ordine sono straordinari, insomma, fortunatamente non è l'isola di Bennato ma bensì quella di Stevenson. È stato bellissimo giocare ai pirati con voi, grazie mille a tutti !

Fortunatamente abbiamo constatato ed appurato che "l'isola c'è" veramente, quello che invece "non c'è" è la padronanza (o anche solo conoscenza) della lingua italiana con le sue basiche regole di coniugazione dei verbi almeno fino alla terza persona plurale utilizzando la forma di cortesia e non sentirsi parlare come ad un aborigeno in terra propria dalla receptionist ...
