The ESKBANK hotel - Rathan House

My wife and I stayed here from 18th to 21st June 2026. Eskbank is not of the usual hotel offering and, I have to say, that upon arrival for a short time, we were not sure…. but…. There is adequate parking; our room was clean, comfortable and met all our needs; they key system allowed free and unfettered access to the building at will without fuss. Breakfast was a revelation; the usual fruit, yogurt and the like were offered on help yourself basis; the hot offering was different each day – fish, based on traditional highland and island recipes; unusual but proved to be very tasty and all freshly prepared each morning. My wife who has a more reserved taste was cheerfully offered alternatives. Any reservation about ‘sharing’ the breakfast table were quickly dispersed by interesting conversation with other guests from the US, European countries and the host himself who was very informative. All in all, a unique experience provided by the hardworking husband and wife team. In short; - Different – Interesting – Enjoyable – Good value.

Comfortable room.. Near buses and town.

Water pressure variable so shower went cold. Be nice to have a glass as well as the mug.

Location for ROYAL HOSPITAL , FIRST CLASS BREAKFAST, ON SITE PARKING,VERY HOMELY ATMOSPHERE

Food, comfortable bed, cleanliness,

Location was handy

No flexibility on late checkout which would have been really appreciated
