Very disappointing.

Although booking was confirmed for 2 nights, on arrival, they had no record of it. Found me an apartment for the fist night, but would have to check with manager about the 2nd night. On my 4th call the following day, there was an answer - found another apartment for that night. First night's room - tv/remote in bedroom did not work, there was no remote for tv in main room.

No booking on their system, although they had confirmed. No manager present/available. No response. Faciltiies better suited for cheap student digs - which seems it primarily might be - than for tourist visits.

When arriving at Magnolia we were told trhat we are not staying in Magnolia but another one of the same owners properties. The cutlery and crocery seems to have been put together with odds and ends from different collections.

the place was too small and DSTV did not work when walking in your walk into the bathroom no kitchen to make food only kettle work properly had to always eat out when it says self catering the kitchen is inside a clothing cupboard That could cause a fire in a long term t.v is too close to the microwave inside the cupboard

We like the little rusk left inside our room with the cereal and coffee and tea bags and small little milk

Firstly, the room was very small and not a 3-star rating as advertised, when walking into the room you walk into the bathroom the so-called kitchen was inside a closet the microwave sounded like it was going to explode you could not make food inside the room as there was no place to cook the dstv did not work inside the room no space to walk

Secure parking, pleasant staff. Right next to a river with a walking path. Easy access to Stellenbosch central as well as main wine routes.

Wi-Fi could be upped a bit for business travellers, and it wasn't immediately clear which wi-fi applied to which rooms (it was explained in the booklet in the room - to be fair).

Overall a great experience

Reception was amazing and so friendly. I was really really impressed with the young men that helped us check in. Clean facilities and nice garden for little ones.

Someone's old bottle of water was still in the room and there was only one satche of coffee. But that doesn't really bother me that much.

Noisy with little rest, but otherwise good value for money

The room was clean and the property has a excellent location. Save parking is a plus.

The room booked was with twin beds. Had a double bed which was not a problem for a single person. The room had an interconnecting door (locked) to what I think was a communal room that was not sound proof! Also the room next door has a thin interconnecting wall that end at ceiling high. There were music playing right through the night for two nights and a third night alarms/cellphones went of for an hour and a half from 04:00 in the morning! The sliding door in the bathroom cannot close properly.

There are better Places...

The neighbourhood.

The mattress in room 8 was sagged. They need to be replaced. You can better have the breakfast somewhere else. It was simpel and tending towards substandard. Main part of the breakfast is selfservice. That is fine if you know how it works. We had some luck that there was a guest who came there often. It's a bit weird for us, but all the guests had to sit at the same table as one big happy family.

Avoid unless you like the sound of the staff using the toilet and waking up to doorbells

- The location is nice

- the room we had (room 10, by the dining room) is right opposite the staff toilets. Every fart and noise is heard very clearly. - the intercom door bell for the front gate is right next to the room. Expect to wake up every time someone rings the front gate in the late evening or early morning - I paid for the breakfast for 2 people but the meal was quite disappointing - room was listed as having a bathtub but didn't and has different photos than what we received. I asked them about this and they said the rooms were renovated (sure with furnishings from 1960) but that doesn't explain the missing bathtub (which we actually needed)
