It was extremely clean and comfortable and our hosts were fabulous - very friendly and helpful and went the extra mile in sorting out secure parking for us. We loved Vic’s antiques and all the little decor details - such a pretty, cosy place. The breakfast Esme made was delicious and set us up for the day! Her tip about the furniture shop saved us a lot of hassle and we bought everything we needed there. We were so grateful!

A comfortable, tranquil home away from home.

Exceptional stay — truly a home away from home. Vic and Esme were warm, welcoming, and very accommodating. Loved the personal touch of hearing the history of the guesthouse and Esme’s helpful gardening tips. Breakfast was delicious ♥️ Peaceful, comfortable and walking distance to a shopping centre. Highly recommended.

Home away from home

Esme and Vic were phenomenal hosts, they made us feel like we were visiting family. They really go above and beyond and we really enjoyed conversing with them. Esme treated my daughter so sweetly! Breakfast and pool were total plus!

Loved Mavilla, it being just our kind of place in terms of its charm and decor. Vic and Esme are attentive and outstanding hosts, the room beautiful, and the breakfast, oh wow, the most generous helping of delicious and downright yummy we have ever had at a BnB. Also loved that there was ample coffee available and rusks as an added bonus, so the coffee, sugar and milk that we always bring from home when staying at a BnB, was left untouched, which is a first for us.

property is located in a very central point between Stellenbosch central and Somerset west. it’s easy access to the R44 makes for an easy stay. the hosts were very accommodating and very receptive from the moment we got there till we left. we shall definitely stay for a short stay next time we visit.

no tea/coffee machine in the room- however they do have a tea and coffee station in the dining area which you can help yourself to.
