A tranquil gem

I stayed in the garden cottage, Clavia. It was fully-equipped, private and quiet with a shaded terrace with table, chairs and sun lounger. There are full cooking facilities, air con and a washing machine - and a good-sized pool you can use. It's close enough to town to be able to walk. I strolled over the river to the beautiful Rupert Museum art gallery (which has an excellent cafe). A really lovely place to stay.

Nothing. The WiFi signal could be stronger, but, hey, it was good enough. I'd have preferred a double bed to twins, but it didn't matter as I was alone. If I'd been with my partner, I'd have wanted a double for sure.

The staff was very helpful, room spotless, bed very comfortable, the outdoor area was lovely, pool very inviting. Fridge and microwave, nice set of crockery, quiet aircon. I had everything that I need.

Amenities for the luxury apartment were great. It is very well equipped for self-catering. The provision of chargeable lamps greatly assisted in the times of electricity loadshedding. Very good quality linens and towels. 5 stars for the cleaning lady - very friendly and thorough.

In the listing it was not clear to me that the 4 rooms I booked were not on the same property. The listing for the luxury apartment indicates barbeque facilities are available, but when I asked about it after arrival, the host indicated there is not one available.

Scarey room.

Cheap

There was something scratching in the basin cupboard and looking out the window it was very dark. Could not even investigate were the noise was coming. Did not feel safe.

Friendly welcome. Self contained and good kitchen for 2 people. Wifi stayed on during load shedding.

Not well equipped for load shedding which was a shame. One battery powered light which didn’t last. No candles.
