Not what we expected

Quietness Comfortable bed

Booked this hotel based on reviews from other traveler's. Unfortunately it was very disappointing experience. Room looked tired with dark carpets and curtains are not very inviting. We stayed for st valentines and there was gathering for funeral right at the reception area. Nothing to do around hotel itself unless you want to explore area by car. The pub/ restaurant seems popular with locals. We wanted to see karaoke and were waiting for more than 1.5 hrs since DJ arrived but nothing was happening. Food was just average for me but my partner liked his dinner. Room had spiderweb on the ceiling and insect on the carpet. I suppose being in country side you can expect these things. No herbal tea in the room.

Perfect place close to Dublin airport

This hotel was only about 15 minutes away from the airport. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The room was spacious and comfortable. I ate at one of the restaurants there and the food was good and the staff was very friendly. This was the perfect place to stay on my last night in Ireland.

One very bad experience will ruin your whole stay.

The server in the evening was one of the nicest and chattiest waitresses ever, and absolute star. And the food was fantastic.

Unfortunately the entire experience was ruined by the other extreme, a grumpy, sour server who made us feel like we were an incredible inconvenience to her, and when my order came out wrong, she said ‘well that’s what I put on the till, so if the chef got it wrong you can speak to him’ (as if it was my job to ensure my order was right! Unfortunately for that experience we won’t be back.

Excellent stay – highly recommended

I stayed at Kettles Hotel last weekend and really enjoyed my time there. The hotel was cosy, clean, and very comfortable. All the staff were extremely friendly and professional, making me feel very welcome throughout my stay. The food, drinks, and breakfast were all excellent — great quality and full of flavour. It was a very pleasant and relaxing experience overall. I would highly recommend Kettles Hotel and will definitely return.

Arthur (staff) saved our trip!

The staff, especially Arturro (Arthur) went above and beyond for us. Our trip started off badly, lost luggage ...but Arturro made sure it did not ruin our trip. He made sure we made the best of our time. He even booked us at another place ( as Kettles was full) on our return. Just wonderful... What ever the hotel is paying him it is not enough. Muito Obrigado Meu Amigo!

Nice place but not the cleanest bedding...

Staff was friendly and restaurant was very good!

Upon checking in we were given a key card to someone else's room. When we unlocked the door someone's belongings were in the room. They immediately realized their mistake and met us in the hallway to give us the correct card. Once we were in our correct room we discovered something brown stuck to the comforter. We notified the front desk, she brought us another "clean" comforter in a bag but with no comforter shame over it and that new comforter had multiple stains on it, it was getting late and the phone in our room had no dial tone so we didnt feel like walking downstairs to talk to the front desk again so we just slept with no cover. Im sure they would have done something to get us clean bedding but it just didnt feel like the effort after having 2 dirty ones.

The guy in the bar on the Wednesday afternoon and the older lady serving breakfast on the Thursday morning were both really nice and helpful and the breakfast was good however the room in the hotel was very disappointing!

Rooms are very dated and shower over the bath is very off putting. I was awakened extremely early in the morning with what sounded like chairs being dragged across the floor and could hear people talking. Very disappointing stay!

Great base for day trips with your car!

Comfortable, relatively modern hotel. Spacious rooms with some character. Good restaurant. Very helpful staff. Plenty of easy parking. They are just a bit outside the city, so best as a base for day trips, or to get to the airport. You'll want a car if you stay here.

Great place to rest your weary head.

Everything was great, comfortable room, all amenities you could wish for and the food in restaurant great. I would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay.

There wasn't anything I did not like, except maybe they still ask for a deposit on check-in, but hey, definitely not a deal breaker. Also there is very little shelving for your clothing, cupboard not practical!

A really Lovely room, with 2 great bar’s available on site that’s open late (great karaoke on too). There is also a cafe on site beside the hotel (the chicken fillet rolls were delicious) situated in the country side of Dublin, swords.

Bar staff (one in particular) was very rude to paying customers and in my judgment very kind guests for the entire night I and others were at the bar (the rest were ok) we had a issue when we first arrived at the bar however, Nevertheless this was quickly sorted by the management who are fantastic and very professional.
