Have stayed here before and will book again
Excellent location close to The Mater Hospital . Car can be left in the hospital carpark the night before.
Bathrooms are a bit dated but clean

No direct contact with the owner. Incorrect property correct contact no made the stay a problem.
The bed was comfy. The reason for picking the accommodation was its proximity to the hospital and that element did not disappoint. It is always nice to have an ensuite bathroom.
While the room was very warm on arrival the rest of the stay was not as warm. While I did spot a heater in the press inside the door. Given the warmth of first night I was not expected to have to use it. I was in room 7 and the boiler or whatever it was, adjacent to my bathroom did not let up and noise was particularly noticeable during night when you were trying to sleep. There was no direct contact with the owners of the property apart from messaging via the Booking.Com App . Not only that but the phone number supplied was apparently for Castle Hotel not even for the accommodation. I found out when I arrived. I had a synch issue between my Ipad and Phones app and as a result the means to enter the accommodation was not visible on my phone. As I was expecting to be met by someone the only other way of trying to figure out how to enter was via the contact phone number, which as mentioned above was not even for that property. Bearing in mind I had 2 elderly parents with me, one of which was here for an operation the following morning standing out in the freezing cold trying to figure out how to even get in. If it was not for meeting a couple entering while I was trying to wait for that contact number to come back to me, which never happened, I dread to know what I would have done. Luckily they explained the whole receiving a message with the instructions to enter, which made me take out my Ipad, which I luckily brought with me, to access that same message. It should also have been clear that for anyone with mobility issues that there was several flights of stairs with no lift access. Which my elderly parents struggled with. There was free wifi but it was barely usable to which I eventually just switched to mobile data.

Eccles Townhouse review
Clean, modern facilities with a very comfortable bed and pillow. Friendly staff with delicious soup and brown bread available downstairs in the bar area just off Eccles street. Straight across the road from the Matter private hospital for those who maybe attending. Overall excellent and I would stay again.
This is a very old property and a listed building with lots of character and a long series of stairs to get to the bedroom accommodation overhead. Also for those attending the Matter Private for medical procedures and who have to fast from midnight, it would be great if Eccles Townhouse provided a late night snack or sandwich. Just a friendly suggestion.

Avoid terrible place that should be closed down as soon as possible
I’m afraid I can’t say anything pleasant about this property. I stayed in room number 4 and the mold in shower cabin and beside the windows was very bad
Mold in a room. It is unhealthy to stay in conditions like this one. The reception is only open until 5pm so if you are arriving later you will have a problem

Great place to stay
Comfy bed, nice and warm. Good location
Just couldn't figure out how to reduce shower temp. Tried for about 10 mins but stayed too hot to use shower. Simple thing which I could have asked for help with but didn't have time. Otherwise a great place to stay

Amazing place!
Had early appointment for the Mater hospital so booked this room for one night. Best decision ever. Friendly considerate staff. Great room, warm and cozy. Hairdryer, kettle etc . everything you need when away from home . Have already booked again for my next appointment.full Irish breakfast when I returned from the Mater hospital was amazing.
Some Noise of traffic, sirens ...but I wasn't sleeping good so maybe that didn't help.

Great Irish Experience
The room is located on top of the cafe which was an amazing experience. The room was clean even though a bit outdated but it’s located in the historic building so that was expected. Staff downstairs was very friendly, food was delicious!
