Super location right in Dublin centre the staff we excellent very polite the breakfast was wonderful with plenty of choice and superb value for money my second stay and will definitely go back

Room was enough for 2 persons. All clean and warm in quite cold weekend. Staff polite. Continental or Irish breakfast included. Nice restaurant with life music from 8 pm. Good food. All what you need when travelling. Hotel in city centre. Mostly don't need to use transport. Very good.

Noisy door lock. You defenetly know when somebody comes back or leaves. Not a big issue.

The hotel is located very close to the city center, the rooms are cozy, the hotel staff solves problems if something is wrong in the room or you need something, and it is very cozy because of the Christmas decorations.

when we were checked into the room it was cold but this issue was resolved but there was still a problem with the shower, there was poor pressure in the shower and the water was cold. but everything was resolved so the ratings are good

An amazing place to spend a few days celebrating a big birthday; great location, amazing staff, comfortable and good breakfast. Excellent evening entertainment in the vault restaurant, with good food and wine. Perfect, many thanks.

Fancy combination of museum, pub and tea room

Very amazing hotel, a lovely combination of a tea room, an Irish pub and a museum. Each room differently decorated with love to the details, good bed comfort. We had excellent food, live music in the evening and the breakfast was delicious. We were happy to reserve a perfect high tea with all varieties of sandwich, scones etc.

Double breakfast option was excellent, you can have continental or full Irish or both! and they're in separate restaurants. The bar prices are great, not as much as expected. I can't really say a bad word about the whole experience.

Breakfast was included in the price and was amazing. First morning we went with the Irish breakfast, it was huge. On the second morning we chose the continental breakfast. We couldn’t fault that food either, great variety and very fresh

Had a lovely stay in this beautiful, quirky hotel. Staff very friendly, helpful, and accommodating.

Tried the full Irish Breakfast and it was very filling and all that was expected - very good. Dinners at the restaurant were delicious. Service by staff was excellent. Entertainment very enjoyable. The location of the hotel is perfect, being within walking distance of attractions and transportation.

Our stay was ok, mainly due to the front desk staff who happily assisted with a room change.

Friendly front desk staff who helped us with a room change (larger room). Hotel is well maintained, given the age of the hotel.

Breakfast staff absolutely hopeless - no interest/training in customer service! Just clearing tables/replenishing buffet - like in a food court. No "good morning", "have a nice day" or similar...but they were busy chatting amongst themselves. The hotel is old, but well maintained however, not suitable for anyone who's slightly claustrophobic...long, very narrow guest room corridors and some rooms extremely small! Very questionable fire/safety set up in the accommodation/corridor areas! We noticed one "fire door" propped open with a fire extinguisher(!) during our entire stay (5 days). Guest lifts have an external warning sign "to be used by 2 persons only" - even though the internal lift sign indicates: suitable for 6 guest!? Not very reassuring! What's wrong with those lifts??

Wonderful hotel in a fabulous location.

Fantastic location. Beautifully and tastefully decorated hotel. Wonderful friendly and accommodating staff. Delicious food. Comfortable bed. Excellent entertainment every night with Irish dancing on a Friday and Saturday night. Would return at the drop of a hat! Was relatively expensive but if you want a stately and relaxing hotel, this one is worth every penny!

We were on the top floor so our shower had very little water pressure. We managed to shower but it was a bit of a challenge!

Lovely hotel just not meeting the the value we paid.

Liked the ambience, staff, meals, entertainment and that it had a lift.

We stayed 4 nights and our accommodation cost nearly $483 AUD per night. Where on arrival it was $426 AUD. Will not book another hotel where payment is not made a time of booking. For this price we were disappointed with our room service. Bed not made properly with only the doona pulled up. Floor not vacuumed. Glasses not cleaned. Bed mattress protector and sheet continually sliding down the bed. No refridgerator. No safe. Not value for money for me.

The hotel had such a relaxing vibe. It was a last minute booking From arrival the receptionist was so helpful and we were able to use hotel carpark. Room was absolutely spotless and beds so comfortable. I would definitely recommend and will definitely stay next time in Dublin. Everything on the doorstep. Staff were really friendly 😃 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

It wasn't a bother for us but it might be for others the lift wasn't working and we were right on top floor. Hopefully they have got it sorted. It would be quite a hike though there is a sign saying ask for help with luggage if needed.

The hotel itself was lovely. The restaurants, food, and staff were great.

My room was disappointing. The carpet was filthy, the headboard was coming away from the wall. There were no bed side tables, and only the large overhead light.

A lovely Castle Hotel

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a small size, though clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included and I had the cooked Irish Breakfast which was quite substantial and tasty. The hotel was in a great location and a 5-10 minute walk to The Spire. I would stay again if returning to Dublin.

I didn't have the chance to use the sitting rooms or see the entertainment.

One stop shop for Dublin fun

We loved the different types of breakfast choices available. The live music was so much fun. As parents of a toddler, we appreciated being able to have drinks to our room so we can relax during bedtime. The 24 hour staff was phenomenal and we would love to go back.

We didn’t realize how far we were from the temple district, but we’re glad we stayed here because we learned more about Dublin and were able to try the local transportation.

Not worth the money

The history was the most interesting part. Enjoyed the live music at night.

Rooms were just a room with beds in them. No character. Rooms were miserably hot and the fan provided was inadequate. Understanding there was a heat wave, should have had some accommodations available Additionally, when we arrived on Saturday night we were told the parking was full and to just park on the street. They failed to mention that come 7am Monday morning if you didn’t pay for parking on the app, they would put a boot on your car. Being unfamiliar with the rules in Dublin, we were not happy to find a boot when we were in a hurry to leave in addition to the 125 EUR fine. Interestingly the staff seemed to have a lot of experience with helping guests to deal with it. It would have been nice to have someone tell us about this when we checked in.

Good despite minor inconveniences

Our recent stay was, overall, a pleasant experience, largely thanks to its undeniable charm. From the moment we arrived, the hotel exuded a lovely, inviting atmosphere that felt both historic and welcoming. This charm extended beautifully to our room, which was tastefully decorated and had a cozy, unique character that we truly appreciated. The personnel were consistently nice and incredibly helpful throughout our visit. They were always ready with a smile and went out of their way to assist us with any requests or questions, which significantly enhanced our comfort.

On a less positive note, there were a couple of minor issues that impacted our stay. The water pressure in the shower was quite low, and we frequently experienced inconsistent water temperatures, with the water often swinging between very hot and super cold. Additionally, as is sometimes the case with older buildings, the rooms were not very soundproof. We could easily hear conversations from the next room and the general goings-on outside, which occasionally disturbed our peace.

It’s and old school hotel, I one stayed there and haven’t tried other hotels to compare in Dublin.

It is cozy and friendly. The restaurant and bar is very good, good food and god drinks. The service all around the hotel is excellent. Great location of the city walk. Very close to Temple Bar.

No A/C , but wouldn’t need in all seasons except summer. It bathroom is dated. Small TV that is super small.

Grand for the money

The location is decent , and that theres 4 seperate beds in the quadruple room.

Breakfast - Menu could be more extensive i.e. poched eggs etc, however the main issue which gives this hotel is low rating is the snails pace of its staff, their nice people, but work at the pace of a 2-- year old turtle. You will be waiting to be seved, for food and drinks, clean up and to order extras then waiting again. Rooms were grand for the money, shower pressure needs to be improved however. Room also work off an actual key, not card , there are only two keys per room, so not everyone gets one which is extremly outdated

So charming and perfectly located for walking downtown Dublin. Food and entertainment were wonderful, and the staff were exceptional.
