Eclectic style of decoration. Chaotic dinner and breakfast service All food served at dinner appeared and tasted pre frozen. Poor substandard quality of toiletries in room tea and coffee and biscuits for the price of the room. Over priced poor quality Not informed of renovation works prior to booking. Staff were polite and friendly

Cold pool and Spa Being woken up on a Saturday morning at 8am by building work, drilling. Not ideal when you come for a relaxing weekend away.

Good, but could have been better.
Room was as expected, reception staff were pleasant and welcoming. Car park was spacious and rooms were well signposted, even if it was a bit of a hike from reception to the room.
It was my parents who stayed at the hotel. I'd booked them a weekend stay as a treat. I and they found that staff in the bar were obviously busy, but the result was slow service. After being asked to take a seat and someone will come to take their order, it took over 10 mins for someone to take the order and another 10mins for the drinks to arrive. On our second trip to the bar, again we were asked to take a seat and someone would come to take our order. Same situation again to the point where my dad went to the bar to ask if someone could take our order. I noted other families and couples were experiencing the same issue. Staff were apologetic. It's not that they were dawdling; it was either too much for them to keep track of, staff members didn't have a designated area to monitor or not enough staff on. Dented the experience.

I was put in a separate linked building, the water pipes were noisy and also no tea maker in the room. Took me a while to figure out how the shower worked! My room was opposite the linked double-doors so it was noisy at times.
