Great location, not well maintained, dirty, & would not stay there again.

Great location & outside very pretty.

Very, very dirty. Stains on pillow cases, headboard had a lot of dust on it as well as lots of dust on furniture. Carpet needs washing. Constant drip in tub. Also, when breakfast was served, dishes had stains on them from previous meals. Also, did not like being at a communal table for breakfast.

Friendly, comfortable and amazing breakfast.

Really immaculate room and en-suite with possibly the most comfortable bed. Breakfast was of the highest quality. The full English was second to none. I would highly recommend this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to return for another stay.

Excellent breakfast and a great central location

The breakfast was excellent: a wide choice of cereal, fruit, and what appeared to be home-made jam and marmalade. I didn't want a full-English breakfast, but my feeling is that it would have been very good - I had poached egg on toast on one day, and soft-boiled eggs on the other. I highly recommend this guest house - it is also in the perfect central location.

The only dislike, if you can call it as such, is that you eat at the same breakfast table as any other guests - there were 8 seats around the table. I am not going to mark this as a negative because it was not a problem to me, but I only mention it as some people might not like the idea. I would definitely return if I needed somewhere to stay in Whitley Bay.

Very comfortable accommodation. Excellent breakfast.

Located within a minute's walk of the sea-front, yet not in a noisy position. Enjoyed the walk along the sea-front to the lighthouse on St Mary's Island with its bird life and seals. (Check the tides for the causeway being accessible). Very comfortable accommodation. Our double room had well-upholstered chairs in which to relax and we enjoyed 3 great nights sleep in the very comfortable bed. Well provided-for ensuite facilities. But probably the highlight, as mentioned in other reviews, was the excellence of the breakfast. Great choice, cooked to order, with delicious home-made preserves also available.

Fantastic stay with great host!

We just loved our host. She is such a character. And the set breakfast tabel was an absolute winner! De beds are comfortable and our rooms were quiet. The location is just perfect. Only a few steps from the beach and boulevard. We also discovered that the accommodation featured in TV series Vera (S12E3). Which was a great surprise as we are fans of the series.

Never again was greeted with rudeness and a very dusty room and no towels or cups for a brew

The bed was comfy but that’s all that was good about the room the walk to the beach was short

I booked online and when we arrived at the guest house we rang to say we had arrived there was no answer so rang again the lady answered so I said we had reserved a room on line she then opened the door and we were treated with a very rude elderly lady who went on to say in a very rude voice why have you booked online you should of rang me to then say it cost her a lot of money when people book online she finally let us in and my husband went on to let her know we had booked into another hotel but couldn’t stay there has it was disgustingly dirty so had found her guest house she went on to say oh well you won’t get that here! When we entered the room there were no towels, no cups and very dusty all around and a lot of cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. It cost 130 pound for the night so wasn’t exactly cheap would of expected more for that money breakfast was in with that price but didn’t stay to find out what it would of been like

Beautiful room nicely decorated with everything we needed. Comfortable bed with nice bedding. Great location. Lovely cooked breakfast. Liz the owner is really nice. We would definitely stay here again if we’re back in Whitley Bay.

Great location in a quiet area near the sea front. Comfortable and clean. Coffee machine a great addition to room. Huge bath sheets. Very good quality food at breakfast. Homely and welcoming. Liz is dedicated to attention to providing a great quality stay. Friendly and informative with a lovely sense of humour.

So relaxing commutable sleep for the 2 nights we were there very clean and comfy beds my dog was welcome so it was ideal to take him to the beach which was just across the road Was my 2nd time there visiting and am sure I'll be back again

Valerie was very welcoming ,breakfast was very nice ,our room was amazing, very clean ,and very warm ,attention to detail loved the dressing gown which was there for us ,and all the little extras ,moisturiser, shower cream shampoo and conditioner ,which were beautiful ,I would highly recomend it 😊 can't wait to go back
