The room was very cold and although there was an electric radiator it kept turning ltself off requiring a trip to the reception each time.

Previous reviews were a bit mixed but I was very pleasantly surprised with the hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic breakfast buffet in the morning with selection of full English breakfast items as well as cereals/juices plus toast and jams. Excellent location on the seafront with parking directly outside for limited number of cars. Incredible value for money and well worth a visit.

The heating wasn't working in the first room I was given but reception quickly transferred me to a different room which was fine. Renovation is taking place outside but didn't affect my stay at all.

Outstanding Stay at The Royal – Can’t Wait to Return

This was our second stay at The Royal and it was outstanding once again. The location is perfect, the staff are exceptionally friendly and professional, and the breakfast was excellent with a great variety. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and very well appointed with quality amenities. We truly enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to return once the renovation is complete. Highly recommended.

Fantastic location, friendly staff.

Our room was a bit cold when we arrived, and the TV remote did not work. We were immediately upgraded to a superior room with a sea view, at no extra charge. It was warm, comfortable and clean. All the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our visit.

The hotel had warned us that the frontage would not look good owing to continuing refurbishments, which we were fine with. However they had not warned us that there would be no lounge or bar facilities either.

Just go to the Premier Inn

Breakfast wasn't that terrible, Little Chef standard NO vegan options. It's a ok location but only parking is 3 spaces 1 or 2 taken by staff "overflow" is parking at Premier Inn where you'll pay or get ticketed.

Fascist news on the TV, dirty shower head in bathroom, very worn and old throughout. Only 3 outlets NONE are near enough to the bed to charge your phone.

It was okay. Breakfast was quite nice, although it finished at 9am.

I got a back and the lights and heating went out. I went down to Rec and they sorted it out.

There were lots of steps to get to my room and dirty carpets.

It was an Amazing Breakfast Delicious 😋 Julie Chris and was it Dave on Wednesday so Helpful and anything you want they will get it for you and Margaret the lady I met on my Arrival so helpful nothing is a bother for any of the staff.

Last time I was booked into the 3rd floor but the Italian man on reception carried my case n bags up he said to ask in the morning if I could be moved to the 1st floor and it was all done for me I hadn't realised I should have when my Husband booked for me this time to mention if it was possible for a 1st floor room It was sad reasons I came back to Whitley Bay But staying at the Royal Hotel and all the Amazing Staff made my Stay so lovely Thank you all for all your Hard Work I have told all Family and Friends about this Amazing Hotel

It was just a lovely experience. The staff were friendly, location is good and breakfast was excellent. There was absolutely no disruption or noise at all due to renovations. Initial room was not quite right for a ten day stay and they kindly relocated me to an alternate bright and cosy room instead. Up another flight of stairs but well worth it.

It was delicious each Day Julie was amazing with everyone and couldn't do enough ,it made my stay Chris who I met so lovely as well and when I arrived I didn't get his name he took my bags up to the room I was a bit out of breath at the 3rd floor he said in the morning ask to be moved to the first floor which they all made possible the next morning.and the lovely girl on reception everyone made my stay at the Royal Beautiful .I had stayed here 42years ago when we were married and had our wedding reception and night time disco and Party

I would return to the hotel as in general my stay was good value for the money charged.

The free parking was available for all three days I stayed. The room was acceptable for the money I paid. The breakfast was included in the price and was perhaps the best of the facilities at the hotel.

The only unusual thing was the heating in the room. Had I required it during the day it was not available, the electric feed to the heating was controlled by the hotel staff and the electric panel heater was only available during the times the staff allowed it. Having said all that this didn't effect me as I was out during the daytimes I was there.
