Great location

Perfect location, in quiet part of centre. Beautiful building, comfortable beds, clean room. This is not a typical hotel, so don't expect the usual amenities (ie, minibar, tv, room service, extra pillows). Not an issue for us but good to keep in mind to avoid disappointment.

The room was quite hot, we didn't find a thermostat to adjust.

Mixed feelings

Very close to some of the loveliest parts of Leuven.

The room was spartan in furnishing. Worst of all I found the bed uncomfortable: it affected my arthritis to the extent that I cancelled my second night of stay and moved elsewhere.

Overpriced accommodation in a unique setting

The location is perfect and the fact that you are staying in an ancient monastery which played a pivotal role in Ireland’s history is exceptional. Michael on reception was great … made us feel right at home!

If the accommodation was half the price I’d given a better rating. But it’s very basic, hot water in shower was not very hot and breakfast was pretty average. Also the bar that had previously been in there is no longer … this is a real shame as it was always a great place to meet other people staying in the College.

After some porky cheap hotels it was blissful to have good space and lovely surroundings.

Wonderful oasis in Leuven. Good people, good room, good breakfasts, nice garden.

They charge 30 euros a day for the parking, presumably to put people off. There is an underground car park not too far away.

No what we expected

The room was very clean, and the situation is perfect , just 5 mi.minutes walking from the center.

The room are very very basic, only a bed and a dest, the tiles of the shower were no clean, the shower room is very tiny. No glasses or water in the room, only carton cup for drink, The tap water . Don’t think we well be back

Generally a comfortable stay in a great location, with friendly, helpful staff.

The Irish College is an oasis in the centre of Leuven. No traffic noise. The breakfast was very good.

The room was rather spartan and a TV would have been welcome plus a small bottle of water on arrival. Breakfast till 10am during the week (as at weekends) would have been nice. 9am is rather early to finish.

The hotel is set up for budget conferences/meetings. Not so good for solo guests. Over priced.

Location was close to city centre (10 mins walk)

Very basic accommodation. No TV. No kettle/coffee making. no where to get a coffee. Poor sound insulation in my room - no carpeting meant I could hear everyone coming and going at night. Most other hotels were fully booked so ended up here. Signage on the outside could be better; There was no sign saying "Hotel". two intercoms on the outside but no instructions so I was not sure I was at the right place to start with.

Very nice place, it has an interesting history, close to the center, quiet, very clean room. I went in winter, and the heating is excellent.

Stayed here for a couple of nights during a very cold spell (-6C). Room was comfortable while the heat was on, however, during the night the heating went off and the room was decidedly cool

The accommodation suited the purpose of our visit to Leuven quite well.

central location

I felt 4 o’clock was late in the day to gain access to our bedroom. We were allowed to leave our luggage at reception but having travelled from Rotterdam that morning it would have been nice to be in our room earlier in the day.

The location is great. The room is warm and spacious. I particularly like the breakfast. It was simple continental, but lots of choices.

It is an old building, with wooden floors. The sound proof isn't great. It could be noisy sometimes.

Would go back due to the excellent staff, great location, beautiful building.

the staff were very very nice, and the room was clean. Breakfast had all the things you need as well. And the location, oh boy. It was very close to the city center! Of course, Leuven is a small city so everything is in walking distance anyway, but still helps to be close to uni buildings and the restaurants, pubs, etc.

A few huge (dead/squashed) bugs on the wall maybe, that couldve been cleaned by the housekeeping staff were just left there. The room is clean in general but pretty old. They dont provide a lot of the basic amenities.

Breakfast - selection of fresh fruits is a plus. Fresh products. Friendly and descrete personnel, Comfortable rooms with half open wardrobes (good idea). View on the court garden (unbeatable, priceless).

Modest choice of warm breakfast (boiled eggs only), coffee - low/average. Noise from neighbouring school during the day. Poor light in the conference room (former church)

nice location and okay looking rooms. The bed was large and had one two person mattress instead of the usual two mattresses and the gap into which you always end up sleeping inbetween

no-one was there for check-in or out. There was a number we could call in case we had issues, but te reception was closed the entire time and we didn't see any staff. Check-out and breakfast were early
