Cosy and great value for money.

Comfortable, clean rooms. Excellent service at breakfast and a good range of selection and choice. Pub was very cosy and food was delicious. Serves a great pint of guiness.

The Belfry on New Year's Eve

The Belfry is a great hotel in the Forest of Dean. The room price is very good. The rooms are comfortable with the heating capable of being turned from off to very warm (hot). The hotel staff are great and the owner / Manager is very hospitable. Breakfast has a great choice and I went for the full English. Great breakfast ❤️ I will stay at The Belfry again ❤️

Cute cosy stay and perfect location for exploring Forest of Dean & puzzlewood

Clean, well kept and super cosy! Great location, near Puzzlewood & lots of lovely walks. Perfect for walking & exploring. Breakfast was plentiful & tasted great.

Bed was a little too small for 2 people, we checked in late & this meant no one was there to greet us at check in unfortunately.

Nice comfy place for a good weekend in the Forest of Dean.

All went well, we arrived 21:45 on a Friday evening, Check in was easy and smooth, separate accommodation just off the side from the main building with car parking space right outside your door, nice room with everything you need, very nice full English breakfast with choice of cereals, yogurts, fruit etc, nice hot Tea.I would certainly book with them again if I were staying in the area, Excellent value for money compared to other places around the area.

Amazing

Hotel was very clean very modern rooms and lovely size well equipped. Pub and restaurant was lovely the staff are amazing and very helpful food was great and breakfast was all freshly cooked to order and very big. Fresh fruit cereal or yogurts or choice of Cooked food.

Clean comfortable room.Good breakfast. Plenty of parking spaces. 2nd time I've stayed there, will definitely book again.

Door was quite stiff to open. Was not able to raise showhead, so lucky that I'm short 🤣 Could do with couple more USB charging points in room. And maybe complimentary biscuits 🤣

not upto expectations room was very cold no heating bed was freezing

the room was freezing no heater the windows didn't shut property it was noisy had to climb the streps with luggage the bed was cold /freezing and sheets were freezing nearly came home last time i stayed there was no problem prefer the row just behond the buildingstarting I think at 26 might try somewhere else next time it was so cold I used the shower but the floor was slippy

Convenient stop over

Staff were all friendly and helpful, room was clean and comfortable. We had an early start so couldn't have breakfast which was a shame, but appreciated the peaceful environment to relax

A fabulous hotel!

A lovely hotel in a convenient location. The room was exceptionally clean, quiet and comfortable. Food and drink options were great and very good value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful which goes a long way when one is a female solo traveller, as it can sometimes be a bit lonely. I'd definitely book The Belfry again, I had a wonderful stay.

No major issues but it would have been nice to have a menu, check out times and WiFi details etc in the room. This was a very minor detail which wouldnt stop me rebooking.

Location was perfect as we met up with a couple who live close by. Breakfast was excellent. It was perfect for what we needed.

One small issue, nowhere to put shampoo bottle in shower which was quite small. Otherwise all good.

Needs serious improvement

Location is great if you're visiting the forest of dean. Enough parking available and there is a little playground for kids.

We had a few issues: The most important for me is that the door in our room got locked and we couldn't open it. We tried calling reception, phone wasn't working, then we called from our mobile and they didn't pick up. We had to throw the key out of the window and ask another guest to let us out - needless to say this is a health and safety risk. Breakfast staff were interested, we asked for a veggie breakfast and all we got was 2 veggie sausages. We asked for poached eggs as available in the menu and they clearly just watered down some already fried eggs. Everything was so oily. I would have discussed these issues with reception before leaving but no-one there to talk to. No shampoo or conditioner, just a little soap. Very noisy road

Excellent place to stay to explore the Forest of Dean but disappointing disabled facilities.

Lovely pub with a pretty beer garden. Large menu and good food including breakfast. Comfortable rooms. Friendly very accommodating staff.

I shared the double room with my elderly mother, which was described as having disabled facilities. It was initially difficult to get into the room. There was a step into the room and the door was very heavy to open and did not stay open. There was very little room to get around the bed with a wheelchair. There were double doors into the bathroom, however to open the second one a bolt inserted into the overhead door frame was difficult to open for anyone short and impossible in a wheelchair. There was a wet room which was a good size, however there were no grab rails around the shower.

Simple accommodation with friendly staff

Simple, functional, had most things we needed. Parking great, handy to have food & drink at the pub the accommodation is attached to. Most of the staff are super friendly and helpful with good customer service.

More hooks in the room and bathroom would be great, to hang towels and coats etc The breakfast wasn’t great - limited choice and all deep fried & oily.

It was near where I needed to visit.

Small car park One had 1 large towels to share. Requested another one and never appeared Smoke alarm went off in the middle of the night due to someone vaping - that shows the type of person who stays here

Very comfortable stay. We can happily recommend the Belfry for a stay and for food.

Our expectations were moderated by the good price but we found the room very comfortable and clean. We had our evening meal at the Belfry and found it very good. Breakfast was very good, too. The staff were lovely - friendly and professional. We hope to visit the area again before too long and would stay at the Belfry again.

The room was excellent. A good selection for breakfast and attentive staff, Pleasant surroundings with a fairly raural outlook.

Particularly hot weather, a fan left in the room would have been helpful. Although fairly well soundproofed, our room was nearest to the bar and a very rowdy social event prevented us from sleeping until the event finished. The door to the toilet was sticking and could not be closed. Small details admittedly, overall the accommodation was good.

Awesome! But ban wokelings!

Used to live in the area and it was one of my favourite bars at the time so being able to stay there is even better! Great accommodation with your own front door - v handy if you are a smoker!

Really good accommodation

Very nice place, clean. Staff was really friendly, breakfast included in the room price and very good. WiFi signal was excellent, more than I expected. Plenty of parking spaces on site. I'd definitely recommend it and will be visiting again. The beds were really comfortable as well, tea and coffee in the room if needed. Plenty of drawers and cupboards available to out your stuff, although I only stayed for 1 night so we didn't use them.

For a 2 star hotel there's not much more I could say. Maybe as a suggestion to add a note with the WiFi password and the breakfast times in the room. Or receive them at the reception when guests arrive. A couple of hangers for clothes would be a nice touch and a soap holder in the shower cabin would make things easier

Comfortable accommodation ideally placed to explore the Forest of Dean and South East Wales

Friendly family run hotel. Room was comfortable and clean. The food was excellent and the portions were really large. It arrived piping hot and well presented.

The only observation was it could have done with a mirror in the main room.
