Perfect place for meeting new people and doing activities

Clean rooms, perfect location, nice staff. But the absolute best were the social activities! This is the best hostel for meeting new people and socialising! They also organise different paid and free activities for each day of the week. I loved it!

Great economical place to stay in Cape Town

I had a private room with en suite bathroom. The price was fantastic. The staff helpful. The location, with restaurants and stores surrounding it, was a 10. Safe neighborhood. I was very happy I booked this place.

Full score from me. I stayed in a 4 bed dorm for 3 days from a Monday to Thursday in early January and was very pleased. Not as noisy as I expected, judging from some previous comments… though I used earplugs which was provided on requests, and it’s probably noisier during weekends. There was 2 fans in the room, perfectly functional bathroom and the cleanest kitchen I think I’ve ever seen at a hostel.

Everything wasn’t perfect but considering what I payed it’s irrelevant.

I had a lovely and comfortable stay. Location is also great if you will be having a lot of activities.

The heat was a challenge, as the fans tend to circulate warm air after some time, and air conditioning would be a great improvement.

It’s a must to stay at the Never@Home again!

Never at Home was really home away from home. My aunt was a bit worried about the whole “backpacking” experience but as soon as we arrived she met awesome people and loved the service. Our bed sheets were changed everyday, the chilling areas and kitchen were super clean. I felt super safe. The shops and bars were just a walk away. The staff treated us well.

Kloof is Amazing. ( Green point stay away)

I stayed at both Kloof & Green point, the staff and hostel in Kloof are amazing, always willing to help everything always clean it was like home for me as I spent a week there, Ruth & Peter were Ace of the Hostel they are both such amazing people.

Never at home - Green point on the other I thought would be great as that was the vibe at first however I was very wrong, the staff are not as helpful, I had all my food stolen from the kitchen and when I first complained about it, the staff took no interest only when I got upset they wanted to do something, but at the end the stuff just laughed cause I had my food stolen they thought it was funny, management the next morning ( Mary ) was very rude & unprofessional, came up with accusations with zero proof, said checking on cameras on who stole my food would take weeks, ( it's been a week since I was there & no effort made to contact me or anything about what was stolen, I've worked in the same industry for a decade and never in my life thought staff could be so rude. I would recommended never @ home - kloof, but stay far from the Green point branch especially if you're South African, you'll get treated differently. I would have uploaded the video & voice notes on how I was treated sadly there's no option for that here.

Great spot for a short stay in Cape Town.

Great location. Helpful staff. The room was perfect - tidy bathroom, good shower and comfy bed. Good wifi. The bar/cafe downstairs was a great place to sit to watch the world go by and do a bit of life admin. Great activities on offer through the accommodation - they have special activities you can join each day.

A bit noisy on weekend nights with bars downstairs but ear plugs were provided.

Good location clean place but bad sleep

The hostel is very clean and in a safe and center location. It's on a party street for young people.

The noise is definitely the biggest problem. The hostel has three floors and the bar is right downstairs. If you don't have a mountain facing room, you are expected to have a lot of noise until the bar closes. It's midnight or even longer if it's a holiday. Also sound proof is bad in general that you can hear people in the corridor, especially in the middle of the night.

Exceeded my expectations

- Very clean room, bathroom and sheets. This is 90% of what I look for so was very satisfied with the stay - Spacious room and bathroom - Central location, which is also easy to find - Manager was friendly - Fan in the room This was a very good place overall. I'm definitely going back.

- There was residual paint smell - Lady at reception rudely asking me "are you booked at the hostel" as I walked up the stairs. Very off-putting. I wonder if they ask everyone that freely walks up the stairs. But I'd like to believe it's one rude person who doesn't represent the overall culture of the venue, so I wouldn't rate them negatively based on this - My room key stopped working twice, so I had to stay out the room twice while they sorted it out

Felt Like Home – Amazing Team!

The moment I walked in, I felt so welcomed. The reception team was incredibly friendly and full of great suggestions for places to visit and things to do – it made such a difference to my stay. I want to give a special shout-out to Vuyo and Njabulo from the night team. I was struggling with something late at night, and they helped me out straight away with such kindness – I really appreciated it. The place itself was super clean, and housekeeping made my bed every day, which was such a nice touch. Big thanks to them for keeping everything spotless! The volunteers were also amazing – always around to help and make sure everyone was having a good time with all the activities. I work in hospitality myself, so I notice the little things, and I could really see how much effort the whole team puts into making guests feel comfortable and happy. I had such a great time and would definitely come back!

Room was clean. Bed was very comfy. Mountain view was gorgeous. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Michaela, Dioka and Nique. Luggage storage facilities were great. Loved games night with locals and staff members.

The security between the bar Yours Truly and Never @ Home. No heating. Some really cold nights, 2 blankets and duvet weren't enough as room cold. The location, but I felt safe with ordering ubers for personal safety.
