Staff was very friendly, nice and helpful. Lots of space (a few different areas) for sitting, eating, relaxing, grilling, etc. The kitchen is quite useful and stocked pretty well. I ended up coming back to stay 4 more nights later in my vacation.
My stay was very enjoyable, I just wish the few bad apples (with respect to keeping the kitchen clean) would learn to to tidy up after themselves so the cleaning staff didn't have to do it. Management is aware of this and is working on some solutions.

Good hostel vibe but for surprisingly older people! No party hostel, perfect for longer stays. There’s a cafe in the premises that serves good breakfast. WiFi was good.
Parking is 50R extra, cafe closes at 2pm, so when checking in, you can’t get anything to drink. Duvet was lumpy.

I like that there was enough privacy and space, very nice possibility to get Breakfast and have nice morning chats. I had privacy in my room alone which was really amazing. Hospitality really nice. I like that its one BackBacker where you meet also very nice seniors for longer month stay Its a good influence.
I think its recommendable to still be conscious about a certain time where people go to to bed. Maybe to notice for people which like to discuss later in the night that its not fully on. In general it was total fine.

Lovely stay in Cape Town. Nice people and relaxed atmosphere. Quiet and well maintained. Close to shops and cafes, nice little restaurant for breakfast. Enjoyed our stay as a family with kids.

A peaceful gem in Cape Town.
The vibe here was exactly what we were looking for - peaceful and calm, away from the chaos of Long Street. The hostel is very spacious, airy, and well-organized. Even though it's quiet, it still has a great social atmosphere and feels very safe. We only stayed for one day, but I truly wish we could have spent more time here compared to our other stay. If you value space and peace, this is the place to be!

The staff was friendly and the location of the place is in a quiet neighbourhood.
They allow guests to play loud music after hours.

Location and wifi
No proper pick up or drop off location if taking uber. Beds were not comfortable for me. Breakfast inclusive had limited choices.

I liked everything about the place...

Small on-site cafe and nearby Kloof and Longstreet. I took a double room to myself and found the other residents to be respective of privacy and noise. Kitchen is well equipped, supermarkets nearby. Staff friendly and available.
I think some of the bathroom facilities are due for a renovation.

Staff were kind. Place was kept clean, especially the bathrooms. I was very impressed. WiFi was strong. Rooms have lockers (bring your own lock. There are enough plugs for everyone. We had a fan in our room which helped with the heat.
Mattress was a bit worn in. Guests should adhere to the noise levels timelines. Making a boost in common areas at 5am shouldn't be allowed.

The staff is beyond friendly and helpful. This is my third time at Zebra Crossing and I absolutely love it and I don’t intend to go anywhere else when I travel to Cape Town. Everyone is so kind, ready to assist you with what you need. It’s a beautiful environment and it’s a 10/10 for me.

It was okay. I stayed there for one night.

Only the position and the fact that the Staff refunded me without stories about what it happened
Drunk and violent people, shouting at night, entire families almost living there and occupying the kitchen and cooking and eating all the time. Alcool around all the day, verbal violence, no respect. Impossible to sleep, to rest, even to access to the kitchen sometimes.
The owners pretend to apologize about this, they are aware - in fact they offer you a fake smile but they don't do anything to make it stop. They are joking with the client.
I have been travelling for 30 years all over the world - always backpacking: Zebra Crossed is without any doubt the worst hostel I have never seen.
Impossible to do worst.
Moreover Internet instable and broken lights in the room...
Don't go.

Decent location with view of Table Mountain/Lion's Head, and close to Kloof Street area. A very homely place, with very nice friendly staff. Small, but decent value for money, for a private room, if you need/want your own space. I'd stay here again if i came with friends, or knew there would definitely be other travelers there.
Unfortunately not the vibe for me whilst i was there, as not really any travelers there at the time, just a dozen teenagers on some 2-month college trip from abroad, who took over the common areas. Might be worth enquiring beforehand if in doubt.

Nice backpacker location next door to a major nightlife area and not too far away from the waterfront.
Nice optional breakfast but limited selection.
Some of the floor panels in the room need to be replaced

Katrin the owner and staff are most helpful and accomodating. Area is safe, centrally located
Not the fault of the hostel, but some guests have hygiene issues (there are enough bathrooms) or don't know how to clean kitchen utensils

Lovely room with a balcony and amazing view of table mountain. Staff and other residents could not have been more friendly or helpful. Central location for sightseeing and close to many shops and restaurants for dinner. Lots of help with requests like parking space etc. Met lots of interesting people!
Kitchen facilities were minimal. I believe microwave had just been removed as broken and not yet replaced. No oven but there were gas rings and you could bbq.
Parking area is small but it did work and the staff helped organize so we could all get in.

Very friendly staff. Good cutlery and crockery for meal prep. Piping hot water in the showers. 2 lovely large lounges and outside sitting areas. Will be wonderful in summer. Close to restaurants and Engen garage. 2km.from Waterfront. 1km from Bo-Kaap. Good wifi.
Please provide a torch or some form of light for load shedding. This should be a given in this country. Bathrooms are outside with glass doors; not comfortable. The rooms are freezing cold. 1st stay we had a small extra blanket.. 2nd stay nothing. This accommodation is NOT winter-friendly whatsoever. Not their fault but it's on a VERY dangerous bend in the road. We were almost run over. Curtains don't cover the window, made it even colder..

Everything, easy to get to from airport, easy to find, accommodating staff.
All were very helpful, even the guests. I do recommend that you have Uber of Bolt app if you don't have a vehicle. For those that are used to city noise and cars, my tiny room was perfect. It is the cold season so warm PJs and slippers would have been 🙂
I would have rented a fleece bathrobe.. can't fix load shedding. And not much at all.
