Very cute French vibes, lovely quiet garden in an amazing location with everything you need within a short walk.
We repeatedly saw rats running around the garden, up the side of the building and in & out of the bins. We saw them every night of our 4 night stay and so have to assume they are resident here. They didn’t put us off sitting in the garden but we were worried about the possibility of rats in the room/the living area where food was left out for breakfast and snacks. We were careful not to leave food in the room or leave the door & window unattended but it only takes one less careful guest for them to take up residence in the rooms.
Additionally, when booking we missed that there was no air con in the room we booked, given AC is listed on the property details as a whole. The ceiling fan was too noisy but they provided an additional standing fan which meant we were able to sleep comfortably in the summer heat even without air con.

Loved the quiet courtyard that made it feel like a wonderful retreat from the busy city streets outside. Loved the quirky and interesting styling and the thoughtful touches like after hour snacks which were made available for guests, as well as an honesty bar.
Our room was a little bit damp and musty and an aircon unit would have been a nice addition.

La Grenadine offers all the charm of a boutique hotel, run by a great Team, right in the middle of Cape Town. It’s peaceful and comfortable and perfect for travellers looking for staying in a cool period building. My parents and I had a lovely stay and we were so grateful to the staff for their kindness, flexibility, coping with language barriers, and helping taking delivery of lost luggages!

An amazing place to stay in Cape Town, a hidden gem right in the middle of the city. Located in a nice street, walking distance to cafes and shops. Set in a beautiful garden, we had a lovely, spacious room with nice views on both sides and a view of table mountain. Incredibly friendly, warm, welcoming staff!
Everything was great!

My husband and I are just back from our first trip to Capetown and staying at La Grenadine for seven nights which made our trip - it was like home away from home. Maxime and his staff were brilliant. We were made so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was situated on the top floor and was absolutely beautiful - large bedroom with plenty of windows and large bathroom. There was also a lovely terrace with a partial view of Table Mountain. Breakfast each morning was excellent and eating same out in the garden was a bonus. The hotel was so central within walking distance of everything. Maxime organized two day trips for us - one to Cape Hope and one to the vineyards with Talent as our driver. No matter what question you had Maxime was always there to help you as were his staff. Thanks once again for a memorable and magnificent stay in Capetown. It was an oasis in a busy city. Your staff is for sure your biggest bonus, they were so friendly and informative, there was an intern that welcomed us, and she was excellent. Rooms so clean and beautiful decor. We stayed in the Cottage and would have loved to have a little weber in our courtyard, and even a hot tub - but maybe next time. :)
We will definitely share your oasis in the middle of town with all our friends. Location perfect.

Maxim, Natasha, Sephora and Rachel were all so brilliant at looking after us and making us feel we were at home so much so we didn’t want to leave! the location is perfect an oasis in the centre of the busy Kloof street area so it’s easy to go for fab meals locally. The bed was really comfortable and the room was large and bright with a good bath and separate shower. Breakfast was delicious especially the homemade muesli.

The breakfast spread was amazing with lots of choices. The bread was delicious along with the warm croissants. Electric blankets were a plus in the winter. The hosts were good company and the whole place had a lovely ambience.
Location was perfect for us. Tucked away and quiet but right next door to plenty of restaurants, Thali Indian restaurant was exceptional. The Mexican bar/restaurant was also a popular spot.

A little oasis of calm in a hip area of Cape Town
Amazing breakfast buffet!
The feeling of staying with family friends not in a hotel
All the little thoughtful touches that make your stay so easy
there can be. but if noise from the bar next door - if you are a light sleeper, pack some ear plugs. it didn’t bother us too much, though.

Brilliant location, peaceful garden and nice staff
Even on their own parking places you will be approached by the ‘parking guards’ almost every time you leave (sometimes rude if you ‘only’ pay 6 zar). We stayed couple of days and went out couple of times by car, so this was a bit annoying.

An oasis in the middle of Capetown. Beautifully decorated retro French farm house style. Lot of charm with beautiful gardens with fruit trees and herbs, where you have breakfast or just relax. The owner/host made us feel at home. No tv's in room, but there is one in the living room.

We absolutely loved the quaint garden setting of the La Grenadine. It was a little green oasis tucked away in the city. Our room was beautifully decorated and I loved the attention to detail - from the hand illustrated welcome book to the beautifully branded soaps and shampoos in the bathroom.
