La Grenadine

The property was pretty and is well located. We had a double family room: one which is practically a full apartment and a second bedroom with a private little garden in between. For being located in a commercial area, the apartment felt very serene and quiet. We had lots of privacy. The street where the property is located is awash with cool shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. It is also a very short drive to the beach and table mountain. They offer a hearty breakfast and our room has a fully equipped kitchen (we didn't use it bit it's very handy for guests who plan to stay longer and cook from time to time). There's free designated parking provided for us by the property although it is outside the gate. The area felt safe enough anyway for us to leave the car there.

We struggled a bit with bringing our luggage to and from the room as the courtyard wasn't paved. Also the 2nd bedroom only has a bathtub and sink (we had the double family room), no toilet.

The location, the garden !!! Such a peaceful place

We rented the cottage, it was so nice to have our own space and independence while also benefiting from the shared spaces. The decor and the atmosphere are so unique, it’s a charming secluded place yet right in a lively neighborhood. So nice to be offered breakfast in the garden and afternoon tea with home backed cake in the living room. The team in charge is nice and welcoming, we appreciated the French touch mixed with the Cape vibe.

Very cute French vibes, lovely quiet garden in an amazing location with everything you need within a short walk.

We repeatedly saw rats running around the garden, up the side of the building and in & out of the bins. We saw them every night of our 4 night stay and so have to assume they are resident here. They didn’t put us off sitting in the garden but we were worried about the possibility of rats in the room/the living area where food was left out for breakfast and snacks. We were careful not to leave food in the room or leave the door & window unattended but it only takes one less careful guest for them to take up residence in the rooms. Additionally, when booking we missed that there was no air con in the room we booked, given AC is listed on the property details as a whole. The ceiling fan was too noisy but they provided an additional standing fan which meant we were able to sleep comfortably in the summer heat even without air con.
