Bed was super comfy, had a good quality hair dryer, I love the A2 farm milk they had. Close to town and surprisingly quiet.

Nothing major, room maybe in need of a deeper clean and the Air con unit likely needs to be cleaned as it was a little dusty which you could smell (wasn’t terrible)

Location was easy to find. Paper work on arrival was ready and we were expected. We asked for additional milk and tea bags this was not an issue. We had to ring the after hours number as the fire alarm went off several times during the night for no reason as we were in bed asleep. Someone came and dismantled the alarm which we appreciated

Spacious, comfortable bed /room, nice to be able to spread out our 3 travel bags at bench height. Excellent high shower with very good pressure, shampoo , body wash and conditioner provided along with complimentary cookies with good tea/ coffee/hot chocolate selection

Confirmed and paid, but no key, no staff, no response — I was locked out all night and still charged in full.

Since I was unable to access the room at all, I can not be told anything good.

I was locked outside all night without sleep, and my full room fee was still charged. As a guest, I believe the basic responsibility of any accommodation provider is to make sure that paying customers can actually enter their room. Unfortunately, this property failed to do even that. Honestly, I did not expect that a booking made based on such a high rating would turn into such a nightmare. The reservation was for Monday night. Since I was travelling a long distance, I had a strong feeling that I might arrive late. On Sunday evening, I sent a very polite and sincere request asking whether a free cancellation would be possible. If they agreed, that would be great and I would come next time. If they didn’t, that was also fine and I would continue driving and arrive late. The result was silence. The property did not respond at all. Because of that, I assumed the booking was still valid and continued my trip. I withdrew the request at 2pm on Monday and kept driving. After more than eight hours of continuous driving from Cape Reinga, I arrived at the property early Tuesday morning. I naturally assumed that a key would be prepared for late arrival, as this has always been the case in my previous stays in New Zealand. However, when I arrived, there was no key at reception or in the mailbox, no notice on the glass, no message, no email, no instructions of any kind, and no one answered the phone. I looked around, and the only thing I could find was nothing. I was completely locked out with no way to access the room. I ended up sleeping in my car for about three hours at a public toilet car park, waiting for the property to “wake up”. I contacted Booking.com for help, and they informed me that they had tried to contact the property multiple times but received no response. What personally surprised me was that when my bank later contacted the property regarding the payment, the call was answered within seconds.

Room was clean, bed was comfortable, wifi worked well, tv was a good size and had all channels functioning with a good variety of sky. shower was big and had an awesome flow, parking was great and not to far from town and grocery shop.

Perfect, we were able to park outside our room so it was easy to bring our belongings into the room.

All the facilities in the room were modern and clean. The bed was very comfortable and the linen was top notch. Great shower too!

I believe the previous guest had used the small shampoo tube. That or there just wasn’t much in the small tube. As a male, I have very short hair. There was no shampoo available after my use for my wife. Very disappointing. The other thing I might suggest is it would be very nice to provide body lotion. Overall, stay was very nice. Thanks. We would stay again.

Requested for late check out, latest 12noon as we had to attend a graduation at Univ of Waikato at 9am. They were going to charge $30 until 11am, then $60 if checking out at 12:00. We had no option but check out before 9am and brought all of our things with us, including perishables.
