Comfortable, good location and value for money.

I've stayed here a few times now when I'm working in the area. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms. Excellent location for my needs and EV charging so I can leave in the mornng with a full battery! Nice to get proper sized mugs for tea as well, hotel cups are usually tiny

TV reception is spotty on several channels, seems to vary from room to room as well. WiFi is awful. Really slow and unreliable. Mobile signal is only 1 bar on O2 but is still quicker than the WiFi, Neflix streaming to tablet is not possible and even email on a laptop is frustratingly slow.

Beautiful property, great walking space. Beautiful walking trail along the golf course. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

There was no information about out of hours check in either on any message or at the reception. Caused a lot of anxiety. Could not get across to the help line inspite of infinite wait. Only upon getting outside the door of the property, caretaker’s number was listed for out of hours. Also, the shower was broken. After letting the reception know, we were promised a phone back which did not arrive.

Convenient and great value for money with a lovely warm welcome

Staff are always welcoming and my room was clean. The staff were, as always, welcoming and helpful The hotel is perfectly located for my work trips and great value for money

My room was very cold and even with the extra heater I struggled to get warm. Previously the rooms I’ve stayed in were smaller and so this is likely the reason, however it wasn’t quite as comfortable as I’ve become used to but I’ll still be coming back

Perfect location for the event I was attending. Good price for a comfortable stay.

Lovely, spacious and comfortable room with excellent storage and powerful shower. Ample parking and easy check in instructions as long as you arrive when the golf clubhouse is open.

The TV wouldn’t work as wouldn’t connect to the server. By the time I discovered this there was no one on site to help. Lighting in the bathroom is poor for make up etc.

Very comfortable at Thornbury Lodge.

Thornbury Lodge is a beautiful house at a stunning location overlooking the golf course. There was ample parking and electric charging points. The staff in the clubhouse were friendly and helpful. Check- in was simple, in fact my room was available earlier than I'd expected. There was a bar and food available in the clubhouse just a short walk away. I was staying alone but felt safe and had information and contact numbers in my arrival pack.

There were a few dusty corners and the TV played loudly even on its lowest setting but I didn't stay so long for that to bother me hugely.

Excellent venue that was value for money. All the staff were very helpful, welcoming and polite.

Food was excellent. Good quality pub grub! Breakfast was excellent with a good choice.

Shower in the room: Pressure was not strong but adequate. Temperature control a bit temperamental but got there in the end.

No basic necessities such as water!

Anything posiitive was cancelled out by the fact that there was no water - see below.

The fact that there was no water for 2 nights, and no hot water for the other two nights made the stay extremely uncomfortable. No proactive action from the hotel staff, such as providing bottled water. Only being told that I could use the showers in another block. Very, very, poor, will never use again.

A great find with easy access to Bristol and Clifton

Room very spacious and comfortable. This is a golf club with rooms in a manor house plus extension. the restaurant and bar closes at 8.30 which was perfect for us. Good menu for both the evening and breakfast

the fire alarm went off What a shock. no one could sleep through that :) very effective sound!! Maybe give guests with a weak heart a health warning :) Seriously, a great find will stay again when in the area.

I was very comfortable in all areas of my stay, I look forward to a longer stay in the future.

Everything excepting the initial booking system, I found it confusing and not as straight forward as that I believe these systems should be.

Access null points/room fine

Value for money and historic, though a bit bland once inside. Big room- could do with a picture. We did not bother with breakfast- instant porridge with the kettle. We arrived late from ferry in Plymouth so key card entry was welcome, but it did NOT work.

There were roadworks in the immediate approach- maybe this could have been flagged up in confirmation email as there were no deviation signs. At midnight after whole day driving this is stressful. Number for front door worked, but then the description should have been unambiguous. They saids steps (plural) left- it was only one step half left, but there was also a staircase right , a corridor left and a staircase down with key safes with room numbers which we did not have and which were not the ones we needed. The duty manager came to find actual key safe empty. He then gave us a front door key, but no room keycard!

The room was spacious, bed was comfortable.

The pillows were flat and had seen better days. They need to be replaced. The duvet (not the cover) was disgusting. Corners were sticking out from the duvet cover and it was pretty old, very bobbly and had clearly seen better days too. Made me feel extremely uncomfortable knowing that I was sleeping with such old, disgusting bedding. I did report this to the lady at the bar when checking out.

Unable to get back in our room on the second night of our stay and we were very fortunate to catch staff just ten minutes before they left for the night. Clearly this was a system fault or a clerical error.

The staff were friendly and the room was well tidied and maintained. The location was fantastic and generally was a relaxing place to be around.

There was some slight mould on some of the bathroom fittings. The view from the window was fairly uninspiring, but nothing that was concerning

Very pleasant and I would recommend Thornbury Lodge to a friend.

Breakfast was delicious ! The views were lovely and the grounds very pretty.. As they could see my husband has difficulty walking the staff kindly offered to change us to a ground floor room this was very helpful.

The fact that you had to go outside to access the dining area. It was a beautiful sunny day when we went for our breakfast but it wouldn't be fun in the rain. Driving to get your breakfast would seem a bit odd. We were at the back/ side of the lodge, and the driving range spoilt the view.

Beautiful location on the edge of the golf course and looking over the water. Rooms are huge and very comfortable! Easy parking and super friendly staff (huge thanks for opening the pool room for us to play!!!)

Will stay there again if I go to Thornbury again.

As a non golfer it was interesting to stay on a golf course. I liked walking up the drive, I liked the old lodge where the rooms are, and I liked spending time in the bar area. Also good that breakfast started early (7 in the week, 7.30 on Sundays).

There was always TV on (and quite loud) in the bar, though no one was watching. I would have liked a breakfast buffet.
