New King Street Apartment

Lovely & professional host. Great location (short walk from town centre and Sainsbury’s). Quiet and peaceful road. Unique layout that I absolutely love!

Plenty of cobwebs/spiders. HUGE one found in cutlery drawer. Garden not safe. Lack of ventilation in bathroom (but expected for layout of apartment and dehumidifier done the job). Windows don’t open.

The location is spot on literally a minute walk from the town centre and the royal crescent where we went to a concert. Apart from that literally nothing I’m afraid to say.

Where to start - my overall word for the place is grim! The entire downstairs where the bedrooms are (literally basement area) is really dull and damp. There was a heavy rainfall for about an hour and there are also leaks you can hear dripping inside cupboards. There is no window or ventilation in the bathroom and even with the fan on everything drips in steam. The walls and skirts are worn and dirty with traces of old mould that’s been scrubbed away. There’s a plug in damp machine ventilation but can’t see that this does anything. The entire place needs a complete refurbishment - we paid over £520 for two nights and I feel robbed. My kids 16 and 17 said it was the worst place they’ve ever stayed. It was depressing, it’s not clean despite other reviews saying so - not sure how these people like to live that have said nit’s clean but it’s certainly not how we live and to the standard you’d expect for hosting guests let alone the price paid. The carpets downstairs are also grim and I didn’t want to take off my shoes - I also saw what looked like wood louse crawling when I went to the toilet in the night when I turned the light on then they scurried off. (Or that looked like wood louse something that crawled two of them) - the second bedroom with the double bed is ridiculous there isn’t even room to get into bed on either side and have to crawl out the bottom. The kitchen utilities were grim, looks like the toaster and kettle have never had a clean I didn’t dare touch them. The windows were also filthy to look at and the garden a health hazard! All in all good location but this place I wouldn’t pay more than £50-£60 a night at most - that said I’d never step foot back in the place, we were all glad to leave and even when we got home all our clothes were damp! Avoid! I’d upload more photos but only allowed four! I feel completely robbed! To the owner - the money you’re charging you need to invest and also buy an iron!

Very cheap basic furnishings, not welcoming to the eye, bathroom was functional but cold and minimalist.

The property was close to the station and the town so there was no need for transport, we arrived to a very clean and comfortable property it was warm and spacious enough for the four of us The owner of the property was very helpful and courteous

Fantastic location in walking distance to all the main tourist attractions in the cutt. Bright and comfortable apartment. The property owner was very helpful and available to answer any of our questions.

Not being from the country, we are naturally unaware of any policies regarding waste disposal in the UK. Recycling policies can be vary wildly from country to country and the instructions we received were a little confusing, I would recommend the owner highlight these instructions more clearly in the apartment.
