Tanote Villa SHA Extra Plus

The main advantage is the location. Away from the crowded parts of the island, and beautiful place with the best beach on the island (even though it's a 5 minute walk, it's worth it, and the walk is amazing, through the bushses. The pool is wonderful. Beautiful with a great view and nice size.

We stayed at the garden villas, so maybe some if our issues may not be relevant to other rooms. The advantage of the relatively secluded area has to be calculated against the fact there is no Bolt or Grab on the island, and the hotel shuttle is really limited. You can hire a bike, but the roads of the island are not easy to drive, and for inexperienced drivers, it could be quite challenging. Taxis on the island are 500/600 thb for each drive. So you need to take it into your considerations. The breakfast was quite limited, but we thought it was enough. The bar is also quite limited, but it wasn't bad. The facility itself is quite old. The rooms are rundown and the bathroom are not as clean as should be desired. The hotel is located within the woods, so animals and bugs are everywhere. We didn't mind (as long as they stayed out of the room), but unfortunately in one of our rooms there were ants coming out of the tap in the bathroom.... Also, our cabins were located comfortably near the pool, but the price was the smell of sewage, theat was really strong (coming from the opposite pool's plumbing). Also, The shower gel and the shampoo had terrible smell. Finally, the staff maintaining the rooms and the dinning room was nice enough and helpful, but the fronte desk's personnel were less accommodating and quite rigid (for example, we asked for a late checkout, to be able to synchronize with shuttle to the pier and despite the fact this was a readily available option in Booking, they refused).. The front desk itself works limited hours and the only way to contact them was through WhatsApp (that didjt work), and is unavailable during the night. Very strange. Overall, we would not recommend this hotel.

The staff was nice and helpful. The coral reef is the best in the Island. The room is great, large comfortable bed. The pools are very nice.

The breakfast for vegan is not good enough. Taxi to center is expensive.

Amazing view from the hotel, close to the beach. Although it’s a bit far from the island’s city center, we actually saw this as an advantage - the area is quiet and relaxing. The property has two pools and a stunning landscape, making it the perfect place to unwind. Waking up every morning to that view was truly unforgettable.

The shower drainage wasn’t great, and the tap had a weak flow. More free rides to the island city center would be very helpful, since without a rented motorcycle you’ll need to rely on taxis.

Location to snorkel was amazing, room was really nice

The restaurant was a bit plain, but staff were nice and the view was lovely.

Our main reason for visiting Tanote Bay was for the snorkeling. This did not disappoint. The pool is excellent and the dining staff are wonderful. Breakfast was delicious and the evening meals were excellent as well.

On arrival, no hearty welcome whatsoever. In fact, it was the same greeting one would expect if going to a hardware store. Please work on this! Guests should be welcomed as it sets the tone!!! The initial accommodation we had booked - two bed with private pool - was poorly advertised as the rooms were not connected. One was above the other with separate stair entrance making it absolutely unsuitable for family stays with young kids. The private pool itself was poorly maintained with tiles missing and this accommodation needs a lot of work done. The hotel did arrange different accommodation - which was fine - but it was disappointing not to have the accommodation we had booked 8 months previous. I'd suggest rewording your listing to ensure future disappointments are avoided.

Lovely quiet side of the island with an amazing view. Very nice swimming pools. Breakfast/restaurant offer great food. Beach nearby but accessible by a lot of stairs. Amazing roads to drive from and to the pier. (very steep though!)

This is an excellent choice for a jungle get away Staff are amazing, friendly and so helpful. The beach is a step downand uphill! But completely managed. The beach has amazing corals and fish. One of the best bays on the island on your doorstep. Great restaurants on beach,cheap and tasty. Toilets and mask hire etc. Beautiful infinite pools with jacuzzi. Views of jungle paradise...it real5 feels like you're in the middle of jungle! No other restaurants around. ( Everything closes about 9pm.but 4 of us had dinner every night,, plus cocktails,4 nights and Lunches. Total cost was acceptable. Beautiful rooms and lodges. Beds so comfortable. Highly recommend for a few nights on tao. Whole island is a hill. 2 hour crossing cam be bumpy! Ferry cost 5000bht return for 4. Taxi from hotel to other beaches easy plus free shuttle taxi 4 times a day great Loved it..

Resort dependant other that taxi to town. Definitely a party island but this resorts away from it all.

There was a free shuttle to and from the pier. This worked amazing for us, since the cabs ons koh tao are pricey. The staff was also really great.

The location can be a bit inconvenient, but if gyou rent a moped it is still amazing and nice to be on the quiet side of the island.

Nice pools, view, bit out of the more busy area, you can rent a scooter/bike at the hotel. We had a pool access room, which was nice. Friendly staff, free snorkelling gear available. Breakfast was ok, not spectacular.

Walking path to the bay is a messy, garbage on the side of the small stream, but this is caused by locals living further down the path.

The view is astonishing. Staff really nice and the pool is also nice.

Location far from everything, eventhough they had the taxis around. Installations a little old and not so clean. Bed was hard. We requested a pillow which was delivered but still was not enough. Breakfast was reasonable. Could be better, eventhough you could choose for extra food. The lunch was ok. To get to the beach is a hill down and then to go up you have to be prepared. For the price paid I believe it could be better.

Breakfast every morning was very good, wide range of meat, vegetable and fruit options. The staff at the restaurant/bar area were very friendly and nice. The rooms were very comfortable, aircon was cold, bed was big and bathrooms were nice. At the property there is a pool table available, ping pong table, snorkelling masks to be borrowed for free and a shuttle running to the port and back. We loved our stay here whether it was chilling by the pool or having some cocktails in the evening. Also dinner was available to purchase and was tasty. Would book here again

The front desk was sometimes rude and there wasn’t any laundry service. We were told it was not running and we would have to go somewhere and pay. For the money you pay for the resort, this SHOULD be included.

We loved everything about Tanote Villa. It was 5* hotel, we had a beautiful deluxe room with a pool access which was amazing. The room itself was huge, perfectly equipped, very relaxed. The hotel itself was beautiful, very well decorated. We loved the restaurant and the breakfast? Wow!!! One of the best we ever had with a breathtaking views. They offered gyoza and dim sum, egg as you wish, variety of Thai food and drinks. The location was excelent, just 5 mins walk to the beach with one of the best snorkeling spots in Thailand. 100%!!!

Beware that the beach has rough sand that is not easy to walk on and that gets lots of mosquitoes at sunset. The path down to the beach should be better maintained by the resort.

Absolutely stunning view from the room as well as from the pools to the sea and beach. Clean and comfortable rooms with effective, quiet aircon. Lovely, very friendly staff with good English.

Restaurant closes quiet early in the evenings. After breakfast in the morning, there is a time gap until the restaurant opens for lunch. If you already checked out in that time, there is no opportunity to buy anything to drink. The way down to the beach is probably exhausting, if you are not in good physical condition.
