Comfortable and warm, but not ideal without a car

This a very well equipped cottage, that was exceptionally clean and good value.

The cottage is a couple of miles from Stornoway, so you ideally need a car. We travelled by public transport via Skye and were reliant on local buses. This would have been OK, but when we arrived in the evening, the weather was poor, and we had to make a 40 minute round trip to buy milk and other provisions from the local Co-op. There was also no dishwasher in the cottage, nor were there basic toiletries like shampoo or shower gel, which added to the inconvenience. A basic welcome pack of milk and tea would have been greatly appreciated.

Lovely home

The property was well furnished, modern, comfortable and clean. Well situated for town or getting onto the roads out of stornoway. Literally a home from home, so handy to be be able to keep on top of laundry, great cooking facilities and lots of space to unpack if like us you don't travel lightly! Would definately go back again!

Pricey

The house is within easy reach of Stornoway Town Centre and in a quiet little cul-de-sac. It was clean and tidy, basic without any frills. Cutlery, crockery and cleaning materials were provided. There is TV. The rooms are bright. The instructions to collect the key and gain entry were accurate.

At £135 per night (we stayed for 2 nights, and so £270) the price is, in my view, pretty steep, but then again, the hotels are exorbitant. Lewis is a great place to visit, but at these prices, we won't be doing it often.

It's a great little place on a quiet street, but only a quick 5 minute drive to the shops, grocery store, and so on. I really liked it there 😃

Lovely little property, spacious and clean. Everything you need for a few nights stay. Close to Stornoway town. Very quiet little cul De sac. Heating and hot water easy to use, there are clear instructions provided. Would definitely stay again if we come back to Lewis.
