Excellent base for our holiday.

The apartment was well presented with a very generous welcome pack, and lots of essential food extras not always found in self catering accommodation. The kitchen was very well equipped, and we had everything we needed. The owners have chosen a lovely beach/sea view picture for the wall across from the breakfast table - a very nice touch. We were very comfortable in the apartment, and the shower was excellent. Great use has been made of relatively small space. A prefect base to explore Lewis from.

Pleasent stay in a convenient location.

Convenient location with plenty of free parking. Clean and tidy property, and simple controls for heating / hot water and facilities. Overall pretty good place to stay for a couple of nights.

Directions to the property could have been a bit clearer as the house numbers to not follow the conventional pattern but got there eventually. Towels are very small and a heated towel rail would be handy for more than a single night. Not major things though.

We loved that there were little extras of foods that we weren't expecting, especially when we were arriving late.

Something went wrong with the pin number of the lock box but the host was nearby to assist.

Lovely, quiet stay in a beautiful place

The property is located short distance from Stornoway which was ideal for us as we were looking for something quiet. It is on the main bus route into Stornoway so car is not needed to get there and to the airport. The host was great and provided us with some essentials such as milk, bread, coffees and teas so we didn't have to get those basics ourselves. The property is very clean and contains all the amenities you need for both a shorter and a longer stay such as a hairdryer, clothes drying rack, good utensil selection in the kitchen and even a laundry detergent - Gillian has truly thought of everything! There is also a very helpful booklet with restaurants, tourist attractions and other useful things. We would certainly stay again the next time we're back on Lewis!

There's no improvements I can think of. Communication with Gillian was great and the property itself was also fantastic.

Very comfortable stay for 3 days in this beautiful property. Would highly recommend

Very well appointed cottage with its own parking space right in front of property on quiet street. Great decor and everything you need for a stay - washing machine, cooker, fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. A very thoughtful and welcome touch was the "welcome" basket of fresh bread, shortbread and oat cakes. Just what i needed to accompany a hot cup of tea after a long wet ride on my motorcycle 😊 The property is situated about a mile outside of the centre of Stornoway and too far too walk into town, but this wasn't an issue for me.

The only small improvement might be the provision of a light above the bathroom mirror as it is quite dark in that space even with main light switched on. Also a hook to hang towel/clothes in bathroom would be handy.

Beautiful & modern accommodation in a beautiful place

A beautifully furnished, modern, and spotlessly clean, self-contained apartment/flat. Perfect for a couple - one comfortable bed, bathroom, lounge-kitchen area with sofa and table and chairs to eat meals at. The kitchen had a cooker, microwave, fridge-freezer, kettle - all appeared brand new with everything else you could need to be self -catering. The proprietor had left bread, biscuits, and milk upon our arrival, which was a lovely gesture. The property is located in a beautifully peaceful location. It's about a 5 minutes drive from getting off the ferry in Stornoway to the front door. We walked into the town, and it took about 35/40 minutes. This is a perfect location to explore and would thoroughly recommend.

Very, very minor things - a mirror in the bedroom would be good? More hanging space for coats, shoes? Instructions on how to use the induction hob? Oven gloves would be good too

Great flat

Gillian's place was perfect for our stay during hebcelt. The place was spotlessly clean, comfy and well equipped with everything you could need. We had some time either side of the festival for exploring/camping so were mostly using the place to relax in during the day before heading out to the festival at night and it felt like a wee home away from home. A wee bit of a walk into town if you're not driving (half an hour - 40 mins or so) but we did it a couple of times and it was fine - there are also taxis available and the odd bus. Would highly recommend a stay here.

We could have done with a wee bit more storage space in the bedroom but probably only because we had too much stuff!

We absolutely loved our stay at 12 North Street. It was spotless, warm, comfortable, modern and equipped with everything you could need, even fresh milk, eggs, bread and biscuits.
