Loved the cottage, would recommend it to all our friends

The owners left milk, eggs, bread & cookies for us. They were very friendly and check we were okay before we left. The weather might have prevented our trip home and the owners told us to get in touch if that happened as they could accommodate us for the extra night. We managed to get our scheduled ferry crossing- but still, that kindness was above and beyond. They provided all the laundry and washing up liquids so we couldnt upset the balance in the septic tank. Also, all the bedding and towels. It was great. Why didnt I give it a 10/10? I never give a 10, so a 9 is my best - well worth it.

Extremely comfortable and the hosts have thought of everything you could need. The views and rural location make for a perfect relaxing break. It is also a convenient base to explore the island.

Beautiful holiday home in the remote Calbost community on Lewis. Spacious, comfortable, well equipped house with beautiful garden and views. Very friendly hosts. We had a fantastic time there - highly recommended!

Wonderful accomodation

6 Calbost is spacious, beautifully clean and very well equipped. The hosts, Tracy and Steve were friendly but not intrusive. The view from the accomodation is wonderful from the front or back where you can see wildlife.

Lovely place in the heart of the Lewis nature

The place is just awesome. If you search a quiet, cozy place in the heart of nature, you must come to Calbost. House is comfortable for a family who is OK with sharing one bathroom. All was very clean and comfortable. Tracy and Steve waited for us, when we arrived. We received plenty of suggestions for hiking and walking. Whenever we had any question, it was immediately answered in person or via text message. Deer were coming to our garden in the evenings and from the upper rooms you could watch whales in calm days. We loved that place and hosts were really very nice people. Thank you!

There vwas nothing, we would not like. Not having a dishwasher was not an issue for us. If you were into "tourist places" Calbost would not be for you, as it is really in the middle of the lovely Lewis nature, but this was particuarly the reason, why we have chosen it. So we were all happy :-)

Absolute gem of a cottage . Spotlessly clean , with all the facilities you could possibly need . Tracy and Steve were super friendly and left us a fabulous little welcome package . Views and location were fantastic . We spent the most wonderful week there

One peaceful and cosy night in a quiet place

A little piece of island life. Super remote and quiet. Highland cows just over the fence No noise at all, just the occasional sheep bleating. Lovely basket with bread, eggs, homemade biscuits and locally produced jam and milk. Beds super comfy Shower nice and hot. Pic included of the downstairs bedroom window view, super thick cottage walls. So lovely Super friendly hosts who asked if there was anything we needed.

Das Haus war sehr gemütlich und hübsch eingerichtet, in absoluter Ruhe! Es ist an alles gedacht. Unsre direkten Nachbarn: 3 Kühe…Wir bekamen als Willkommen Eier, Cookies, Brot und später sogar noch Tomaten geschenkt. Tracy und ihr Mann sind sehr nett, er gab uns gute Tipps für Ausflüge. Wir sahen Adler und einen wunderbaren Sternenhimmel.

Wir hatten einen sehr entspannenden und erholsamen naturnahen Urlaub.

Ein sehr gepflegtes und sehr sauberes Haus. Gute Ausstattung der Küche. Sehr bequeme Betten. Neues modernes Bad. Die Einrichtung des Wohnzimmers ist gepflegt aber antiquiert, ebenso die Küche. Leider kein Geschirrspüler. Die Lage des Hauses ist sehr idyllisch und sehr ruhig. Dadurch lange Wege zum Einkaufen und zu den Wanderstartpunkten und Stränden. Die sehr sympathischen Besitzer Tracy und Steve leben in der Nähe und kümmerten sich bei Bedarf sofort. Ein Korb mit Lebensmitteln incl. selbstgebackenem Brot und Keksen wartete auf uns zur Begrüßung.
