Stunning location surrounded by Welsh hills, Mountains and rivers, perfect for getting away from the rat race.
Alison met us on arrival and was friendly and welcoming, then for the duration of our stay we were left to our own devices.
The communication from Alison and Dan was top notch, the cottage has most things you would expect at home, and is very clean and presentable, Make sure you bring everything you might need however as there are no shops nearby, we forgot to bring washing powder/pods and we couldn't find any in the cottage but we got by with a soapy pre wash in the sink before using the washing machine.
We stayed for 3 nights and our stay was a perfect escape we loved the peace and quiet, not even the rain could dampen our enthusiasm.
We would 100 percent recommend.
This is not really what we didn't like it's just a few observations so that you are fully informed if you are thinking of booking the cottage. The staircase in the cottage is as noted in the description, a narrow wooden spiral staircase that if you had mobility issues could be a problem we are a 45-55 yr old fully fit couple and we managed fine with it, and having said this you could easily spend your stay downstairs if you wished. The road approaching the property is a single track rough lane that gets quite steep as you approach the property which is to be expected in such a remote location so be forewarned, cars and our campervan were fine going up just don't expect smooth tarmac.

A cosy and relaxing cottage with great forestry walks nearby to explore with the dogs
The only drawback was there isn't an enclosed garden for the dogs

The cottage is in a stunning location with amazing views and we enjoyed star gazing at night in the lovely garden.
Met by hosts Alison and Daniel who were so welcoming and helpful, giving us tips on the local area. The cottage has everything you need and is cosy and comfortable.

Nothing
Definitely not worth the price they charge.
In short, we were extremely disappointed with this accommodation for the price we paid.
Sadly, the quality of the place does not meet the requirements for such price charged.
We paid way less for much better and much more private!
The owners house is literally behind the cottage and their bins on the side of the cottage. There is also an office right in front of the cottage overlooking the front door of the accommodation. It was occupied by someone that you could clearly see working at a desk from inside the house when standing in front of the kitchen door.
It is not private at all and you are literally between the owners house and their office that they use during the day.
The BBQ is facing the office so if you want to enjoy a BBQ for lunch, you are facing whoever is working in the office. How wonderful is it to pay £507 for 3 nights when you can’t even enjoy a non overlooked bbq?
The little shed on one of the pictures shown on the website is the owners tools and garden equipment shed. So if someone needs anything from this shed, they won’t hesitate to walk in front of the main door to access it. Which is what happened on our first morning there. Not fair to have someone walking on the doorstep of the accommodation you have rented and paid for, when drinking your coffee, especially with a see through entrance door.
To enjoy the view, you literally need to walk on the main pathway giving access to the estate. So again, not private.
One of the frying pans was disgusting and I would be ashamed as a woman to provide my guests with this. The smell coming out of the drawers was also repulsing. We had to re wash all the dishes in the cupboards before using anything!
The layout of the house is not suitable for 3 adults at all. In what world you charge extra money for a third adult when the ONLY bathroom is in one of the bedrooms. What a useless layout.
Everything. I don’t think the price is fair and the extra charge for the 3rd adult is definitely a scam!
There is not privacy at all! Extremely disappointed with this property! Never again and I will make sure to NOT recommend it as much as possible.
The owner wasn’t helpful either.
Boiler keeps breaking. So much noise on the second floor.
Such a shame to have a place like this on booking.com at the wrong price.
It feels like this house is just to make money and not at all to offer your guest a proper holiday experience.
Worst stay ever!!! And I have travelled the world!

Superb location with great views, nice tidy garden area and was allowed to wonder around near the other properties. Cottage was well equipped with plenty of information for casually walking around the area. Good space for private parking. The hosts Alison and Dan were very friendly and I suppose we must include the dog and 2 cats as well.
The spiral staircase which leads up to the lounge area was a bit tricky decending, not suitable for elderly with problems with mobility.

Location, location, location! A beautiful cottage away from everything, but still within minutes of the village of Cormen. Well located to visit the snowdonia national park, and the historic sites in the north of Wales. If quiet solitude is what you’re looking for, then this is the place.
Nothing to say in a negative way.

A beautiful remote house, in the most picturesque part of Wales.. There aren't any neighbours, a quiet time to meditate.
A detached holiday home, complete with garden, long gravel drive. This is decadence, at an affordable price. Thanks again Ali and Dan x

- peaceful and remote location
- excellent communication with hosts
- lovely, rustic and quirky feel in keeping with the building
- could do with some more attention to detail with cleaning i.e cobwebs
- had to take lots of care when using the stairs, especially with a baby in arms. Not suitable for everyone!

We stayed here as somewhere to stay whilst we went downhill mountain biking and enduro riding at wern duu quarry (with this location being only 10 minutes up the road) it was perfect! Would highly recommend for any one wanting an enduro holiday, having said that I would go back for a relaxing holiday with the family. It was perfect in all aspects. Host was truly kind, even washed and posted back my dirty washing that I left in the washer. Hope to be back soon! 5*****
Thankyou
