Convenient and private accommodation.

Great location for us to visit relatives who live nearby and outside area for us to entertain them. Nick very helpful and close by if needed to be contacted. Nice bathroom and everywhere very clean inside. Pleasant walk down to the river and a public footpath that follows the River Dee. You can get a good breakfast/lunch at nearby Rhug Farm Shop if you don't feel like cooking or get supplies. Walkers would find this a good base.

We found the spring mattress took its toll on our backs, (maybe due to our age!) over three nights, but told on departure that a memory foam mattress was available so would ask for that next time. New pillows please!

Lovely cottage!

We had the best stay. If you’re looking for somewhere to unwind from the noise of the city, this is the perfect place. It’s not too far from town, yet it still feels wonderfully tucked away in the middle of nowhere. The highlight for our son was kitten Luna, who visited us often and was the sweetest, most well‑behaved little companion. Nick was incredibly accommodating and friendly throughout our stay. We absolutely loved Milkwood Cottage and truly hope to return. x

I look forward to when I can return again

Location excellent, quiet, private and interesting. Setting is amazing. Inside is larger than you would first think and the rooms flow well and are very generous. We were very comfortable and felt very relaxed, including our dog. Excellent private and safe parking. Host was excellent and very accommodating. I would choose there again without looking at anywhere else.

Overall Good Stay!

I found it to be quite nice and cosy, contributing to a very pleasant atmosphere. The cottage surrounding with trees and nice and clean lawn, where you can play mini golf with friends and family. I liked BBQ facility and outside seating area.

The host arrived half an hour before the scheduled checkout time, which felt a bit pushy.

The mattresses were elderly, uncomfortable and in need of replacement . Bedding was also ripped (bottom sheet).

It is a lovely cottage with a large garden where kids can play. The Cottage is located next to the river Dee where activities such as swimming and fishing takes place.

Our Stay

Nick and his dad are great hosts. Our stay was so relaxing. We met the hosts almost every day but we still had our privacy and we were given great tips of places to visit. The place was quiet and peaceful with a lovely garden for the kids to play. The best part was the short walk down to the lovely area by the river....a lovely relaxing space all by ourselves. The kids loved Luna the cat and they had a great time feeding the fish and picking up fresh eggs. Thank you Nick, we hope to visit again.

Fab location, lovely facilities, would definitely use again

Lovely private location, great space indoor and outdoor and access to nearby riverbank. Lovely owner that looked after our every need. Great cooking and BBQ facilities with lovely garden and outdoor seating plus fire pit! Shower great and private parking :-)

The sofa bed was a little uncomfortable but the 2 doubles were great!

Great location, very private pretty scenery. Cottage had everything we needed. Nick was very helpful - met us on arrival and dealt with a couple of minor issues we had during our stay immediately.

It was memorable and enjoyable, exceeding our expectations.

A cottage stay was very relaxing and charming experience. Firstly such a warm welcome from the host, who was very informative about the place and walks we could have around. The cozy atmosphere and peaceful location made it ideal for a restful escape. The cottage was well equipped and comfortable.

Lovely, clean and comfortable in a great location

Lovely, clean and comfortable in a great location. Host was very friendly and explained everything upon arrival. Main house was closer to the cottage than I had expected, but host was very respectful of privacy. Easy to get to Bala lake and Llangollen within 20 mins or so and Corwen is within waking distance. Lovely farm shop with a takeaway and even drive through 5 mins drive away. Host also kindly lent my children bikes to go exploring.

The location is excellent for getting around north Wales. The host is very helpful and knowledgeable about the local area.

It is very dark when we arrived and we didn't realise at first the cottage was behind the house. Not problem as we figured it out.

lovely cottage the owners have prepared it with comfort in mind. It’s not luxurious but comfortable and charming. There’s a lovely garden to relax or let the kids play in. The owners were really warm and welcoming, it really did feel like a home from home.

Our host were amazingly kind people. The place is just a hidden gem with character and athmosphere. When I am going back to Bala I always check if the cottage is available. WE arrived with two cars and that was not at all a problem. Thank you

Perfect Wales getaway cottage! . (Our Cocker Spaniel agrees.)

Amongst all our holiday rentals, this certainly was the best ! Such a fantastic location for trips out and beautiful walks along the river Dee just down a path from the cottage. Everything we needed in the kitchen-dining room, nice little nook to relax and watch TV in the evening. We appreciated all the interesting original artwork as well as the perfect hosting . We'll definitely try and come again.

Beautiful area with attentive hosts

The location is beautiful, right next to a shallow river which is perfect for paddling (in the summer). The host gave a good introduction and gave us some ideas on what to do. The place was clean and loved that we had a dishwasher which meant we could relax that little bit more. Had a lovely garden which we are sad we couldn't enjoy more as the weather wasn't great on our stay, but perfect for BBQs.
