An outstanding stay – comfortable, relaxing, and highly recommended!

I really loved the peaceful and cozy atmosphere of the villa. The swimming pool was clean, the room was spacious and tidy, and the surroundings felt fresh and relaxing. The staff were very friendly and helpful, which made the stay even more enjoyable.

A hidden gem

Decent size room, comfortable bed and staff was approachable and helpful.

The street to the villa was quite steep, can be difficult with big bags. Cars wouldnt normally come in front of the villa due to tight street.

An Unpolished Gem

Strategically located at Jalan Bisma which is near to Ubud center and easily accessible by foot or scooter. There are many cafés, restaurants, mini marts and a few massage parlours nearby. The staffs at Kubu Tropis is friendly and the boys attends to your questions or requests almost immediately. Good job to the team and keep up the good work.

Kubu Tropis is in need of some TLC. My wife and I stayed at Room # 1. Both the room door and toilet can't fully open. Very annoying. Bathroom's basin is clogged which causes water to accumulate easily. The bathroom extractor fan does not work and we all know what it leads to. Some parts of the room needs a proper cleaning e.g door panels, walls, windows etc as you can literally see dust accumulated. Secondly, I woke up in the middle of the night to find the room having a mini flood from the rain. The balcony doors are not well designed to keep the water out and this is a known issue for Rooms 1-4. The newer block does not have this issue. The hotel crew only had a temporary solution to put pieces of cloth on the floor inside the room to prevent water from seeping in. I don't blame the boys working there, it's not their fault. The owner should take action and solve this known issue. Lastly, I'm not too sure if the sheets, pillows and comforter is changed daily or properly washed. It was kinda yellowish. Though, it did not smell but visually unappealing.

Great budget friendly villa

For what you pay, this is a fantastic villa in Ubud. It was centrally located on a quiet street that runs perpendicular to the main busy street. The rooms are spacious and the pool was quite clean. Breakfast was standard but tasted good. You get to choose a drink, a main option and a fruit plate or fruit juice.

Honestly, for the price, I can't complain. But the pillows were a bit too big and uncomfortable and we would have liked to be able to have breakfast before 7:30am.

Loved the location - perfect for central Ubud, on a lively (but not too loud) street and a 5/10 minute walk to the Main Street. Great pool area. Comfy bed. Staff very friendly and helpful.

We were in the deluxe double room. strangely, the door and some panels of the walls were made of wood slats which let a lot of heat and noise in - a thunder storm kept us up all night!! There was very little storage. The breakfast was very average. The staff constantly try to sell you packages, and we felt a little uncomfortable about this.

A decent place to stay

The bed was comfy, the water heater had good pressure, good resort vibe, cool aircond, nearby to shops.

.Was hard to find the place, as it was not on main road. Narrow road, very hard to access by car unless you have a very skilled driver. Poorly lit walkway towards the resort from the main road, it was creepy to walk at night. The exterior of the place seemed like it need some maintenance. The pictures on Booking.com looked better than the actual place.

Location was great, it was nice to be a street away from the busy-ness of Ubud centre. Staff were lovely, room was fantastic, it was nice having breakfast brought up to have on the balcony

The position is good if you want to be close to restaurants and other attractions in Ubud. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, always greeting you with a big smile. The breakfast was also very tasty, especially the omlette, french toast and the banana juice.

The room has a design modern and spacious, but the bathroom could be improved. Everything seems to be old and in not very good condition. Also, the road is hard to reach by car

Excellent value, great location, beautifully decorated

1. The interior of the room - very nicely decorated and high quality furniture. 2. Bed was very comfy and air-con worked well. 3. Very spacious, huge balcony too (we were on top floor, building to the left when you enter, room in the right hand corner as you go up the stairs). 4. Pool looked lovely (didn't use). 5. Staff were very friendly and kind. 6. Excellent location - can easily drive or walk to Ubud centre. The hotel is just off a main road (the last part of track can be pretty tricky, especially if it rains, but a common occurrence in Bali). The road has multiple cafes, restaurants and bars all within a few minutes walk of the hotel. You have to visit CHORA Mediterranean Restaurant & Bar - incredible food, setting and very good value for money (4 appetisers for 2 is plenty for a whole meal!). 7. Excellent value for money - especially considering breakfast is included and delivered to your room! 8. Good, strong, reliable WiFI (not something you usually get for this price point in Bali).

1. As others have mentioned, there was a bad smell coming from the drain in the bathroom periodically. However, with the bathroom door closed, you can't smell it in the room and the hotel have put extra fresheners in the bathroom already. I'm sure if we had complained they would've provided further, but for one night it was fine. Unfortunately this is just a common fact of *many* Bali accommodations and the rest of the property, staff, room and value make up for it. 2. The scrambled eggs at breakfast were not great, but my French toast was nice. Overall, considering breakfast is included and you get fruit and tea/coffee, it's totally fine. 3. The walls are quite thin so you can hear other guests in the stairwell clearly.

Everything was on point. Room were fresh and clean, staff was lovely, pool was great, breakfast was amazing. Staff organized transfer after our stay and made everything very smooth!
