The Galle Fort Hotel began life as an 18th Century Dutch villa and along the way has taken many guises from RAF barracks, post office, bakery, lapidary and in the recent past a pitch for the Fort’s young cricketers.

The hotel was fantastic in the centre of Galle Fort. All the staff were very attentive and welcoming, especially our concierge Kalpani, who greeted us by name each morning with her beautiful smile. The hotel building was architecturally stunning, with years of history. We loved the pool and enjoyed our swim each morning before breakfast.

This stunning boutique hotel was an absolute dream. From the incredible decor to the wonderful staff, delicious breakfasts, central location, everything was just perfect for our 3 night stay. The photographs do not do this hotel justice - it is even more fabulous in person. Do not hesitate to book, you will not be disappointed!

It’s very well maintained despite being a heritage property. Staff are very helpful and the location is excellent.
Would have liked to see better gender diversity in the staff. It was predominantly men as staff that I saw and just a few female employees.
