Happy to stay again

Loved the old fashioned style of the building and the lovely grounds.

Nothing to complain about. Was worried at first with so many windows it might not be very warm. But we were toasty.

Breakfast was really good and the girl who served it was delightful. She and the breakfast were the best things about the place.

We were in a small room on the second floor……the red room……no lift. Had to walk up 41 stairs with the luggage. No one there to help. Only saw the manager twice in passing. The whole place felt, to me, dilapidated. Someone needs to take it over and renovate it and it could be wonderful. The dining room, which seemed to double as a lounge, was a wonderful room, high with a chandelier and essence of a former glory. The rest of the place was pretty awful; door handles that didn’t work so you could only keep a door closed by locking it, light fittings that weren’t properly fixed to the ceiling, sockets that weren’t secure, awful curtains . And I got bitten in the night by something. There was also a fairly hideous cloth picture behind our bed of a lurid sunset.

Excellent location close to the sea, away from the crowds of the town center. Comfortable bed. Quiet at night. Good breakfast. Restaurants are about 2km away (except one which is 2 minutes away). Carrefour is about 15 minutes away.

WiFi exists, but it would let you check emails at best. So leave your work and Netflix at home.

Classic villa accomodation.

Easy parking, close to golf course, level walk to sea front and town a bit further level walk away. Good sized room and en-suite bathroom with hair dryer. Large grounds surrounding the villa. Decent continental breakfast. TV in the bedroom. Tea and coffee in the room.

No lift and five flights of stairs to carry your suitcases up. No hotel services.

The friendly and amusing manner of the owners. The building and it's grounds. The proximity to the coast.

It's almost trivial but initially it was difficult to get into the ground as the is an electrically operated gate. This was easy once we had a key.

Beautiful House

Peaceful location but still not far from the towns. There was no pressure you were left alone to enjoy your stay but Eric was about if you needed anything.

Our room would have benefitted in having a comfortable chair to sit in. Also the breakfast room was so quiet maybe a bit of background music would have helped and stopped you feeling so conspicuous if you made any noise 😀

one of our worst experience traveling with booking.com for over 20 years

The only plus point was the park around the guesthouse,

It started already at our arrival as the man who hosted us complained that we were not on the time I informed him by mail (arriving time) we only drove 500Km so !!! , he started talking that our booked room was not ready and we got a room on the second floor by stairs and no ventilation . Next moring the lady of the house told us to prepare to move to another room which we booked , apparently this was overrulled after 30min, explaining that it was a mistake and we should stay in our room !, we didn't understand what was goining on , but the info we received from the staff was quite basic and not clear . Our famous room was extremely basic, ok there was a double bed, a tiny bath room (1.5m²) water from shower drained only very slowly which i not quite hygienic, shower shampoo was not to found we asked for this but was not to be provided . No so very friendly staff , in this respect that we didnt understand all the very positive reviews we found on Booking.com Breakfast was quite basic , ok i dont need a breakfast buffet , but for each a small French bread, one croisant, a small glas of orange juice , and for each a slice of cheese, salami, and ham, , the first day we got a small fruit salade, but next day it was vanished . The park/garen was ok , but garden furniture needed some cleaning .

Great location, interesting experience and great hosts

Great location, nice-friendly hosts and great breakfast. Quite close by beach and the town. At first when we arrived there was a problem with the booking as apparently we could only stay for 2 vs 3 nights. Fortunately the owner was very helpful getting this solved with Booking.com and re-arranged prices. Previous reviews stated some different experiences with the owner/host but ours was very positive and also the lady who take care of the breakfast and dealt with the check out was genuine very friendly and nice. Great experience to have stayed at a Manoir for once. A piece of land and beautiful garden around and some chickens-rabbits and white ducks walking around in the back.

Manor House

Very clean. Excellent continental breakfast Great coffee freshly squeezed orange. Fresh fruit salad etc. Given the suite and it was enormous. Very pleased. Beautiful cherub light fitting. Extremely comfortable bed. Slept really well. Thank you

Racist behaviour and comment by owner ruined our stay.

nothing. our stay was ruined.

From the moment my husband and i arrived at the hotel, we noticed that something was not right. When we arrived, we were welcomed coldly, as if were were not meant to be there at all. We then were shown to our room, but it was not the room we had booked. When we asked about this, we were told rudely that we could "go and find another place to stay, and we would get a full refund". This was not at all polite or considerate, considering that my husband and I had travelled from London, and that i was pregnant and therefore just wanted to rest. Even if we wanted, it was late in the day to find another place to stay. We, of course accepted the room, but then finally asked if there were any vegetarian options for breakfast, as my husband doesn't eat meat. Shockingly , we were told in an aggressive tone that the hotel was not a "5* hotel", and they would not "be serving couscous for breakfast". [for reference, couscous is commonly referred to as a meal served in Morocco, Algeria areas, and is seen as a 'foreign and muslim' meat-based meal]. All we wanted was some reassurance that there could be an alternative to charcuterie for breakfast, but the comment from the owner was clear racist undertones given that my husband is of asian heritage and wears a white turban, which was mistaken for traditional muslim attire. This type of treatment is not something that anyone, regardless of their background or faith, should experience. This is unacceptable in the 21st century.

Great breakfast and huge room

Amazing breakfast, secure parking, close to the beach, very friendly lady in the breakfast room, lovely garden to walk in. Huge bathtub and bed (we stayed in a suite). Overall a very pleasant stay in this B&B.

There was no coffee maker in the room, just a water boiler and a sachet of decaf instant coffee. The suite was very large, so perhaps a better lounge/seating area could be accommodated within the room. Not all light bulbs were functional in the lamps, but it didn't ruin our stay : )
