Loved the old fashioned style of the building and the lovely grounds.
Nothing to complain about. Was worried at first with so many windows it might not be very warm. But we were toasty.

Nothing particular however this is more like a B and B than a small hotel as there is no front desk and took a little while to get let in but once in all good

Breakfast was really good and the girl who served it was delightful. She and the breakfast were the best things about the place.
We were in a small room on the second floor……the red room……no lift. Had to walk up 41 stairs with the luggage. No one there to help. Only saw the manager twice in passing. The whole place felt, to me, dilapidated. Someone needs to take it over and renovate it and it could be wonderful. The dining room, which seemed to double as a lounge, was a wonderful room, high with a chandelier and essence of a former glory. The rest of the place was pretty awful; door handles that didn’t work so you could only keep a door closed by locking it, light fittings that weren’t properly fixed to the ceiling, sockets that weren’t secure, awful curtains . And I got bitten in the night by something. There was also a fairly hideous cloth picture behind our bed of a lurid sunset.
