The stay was great overall. The staff were absolutely amazing – very friendly, helpful, and professional throughout. They really made the experience enjoyable.
The only downside was the lack of a gym, which is quite important for me. Having fitness facilities on-site would have made the stay perfect.

The location on the beach and boardwalk was very nice. It was also a perfect spot to make our base for exploring all of Normandy. The breakfast staff were so friendly and welcoming, and our bed was extremely comfortable.
The cleaning of the room was somewhat inconsistent. One day we came home and none of our garbage was taken out and glasses were not replaced. It was a bit disappointing that all of the questions we answered in the questionnaire before our arrival was not noted. The extra bed was not made. They did not know we had requested parking. I mentioned it was a big birthday weekend for myself with my family, and it was not acknowledged for our entire 4 night 5 day stay.

The location and the reception area
The bed was uncomfortable ( one mattress higher than the other ) the fridge had not been cleaned and had a horrible smell when you opened the door. The restaurant organisation isnt clear. I wanted s table and was told they were full. Overall room good size, view fabulous but the hotel needs to make more effort based upon its star rating.

Sea view suite.
Great in every respect except the shower which was in a restricted bath. Very sub par!
Also a lot of interruptions from breakfast serving staff who do not understand that they just put the trolley inside the outer door in the morning and advise by phone that it is there. Also, cleaning staff knocked three times in the morning.

Third year in a row I stayed at this hotel
The hotel had problem with the air conditioning during a short heat wave during my stay. Both my room and the common areas of the hotel were too warm.
Bathtub with shower curtain ,no shower cabin.

We had a beautiful, spacious room and loved the hotel’s location on the English Channel in the town of Cabourg. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, the facilities and grounds were well cared for and clean, and the beds were very comfortable.
We liked everything!

A beautiful place, and very nice for fans of Marcel Proust! The restaurant and breakfast were great, the rooms were comfortable, and the staff was excellent in every way!
The elevators are too small for a claustrophobic person and it's a long way to the fourth (=5th US) floor. Rooms could use USB chargers.

The place is so quiet and authentic.
The private beach was for extra charge. and this is the only thing that we didn't like about the hotel. As a private beach of a 5 stars hotel normally it is out of charge!

The staff were friendly and helpful. The view from our ocean side room was spectacular. The hotel had a feeling of old world style with modern friendliness on the part of the staff.

Historic hotel where Proust stayed every summer from 1907 to 1913, described in his 2nd book as The Grand Hotel of Balbec. We are big fans of Proust, so this was the main reason for the stay. Hotel is very nice, but rather expensive. Alas, Proust former room (420) was converted to a conference room.

very comfortable room
quiet location
on arrival , after a long day of travel (a Tuesday) we were told the dining room was closed and only bar food available and that there were no spaces for dinner on the following day.
As a so called 5* hotel I was astonished that residents were turned away from dining and also that there was no dining on a Tuesday.
I am a very frequent traveller and found this quite bizarre.

Public rooms beautiful . The breakfasts are amazing . The location on the beach front perfect . Bedrooms spacious.
The hotel has been refurbished but still the leather headboard on our bed damaged and old . Cigarette burn on chair upholstery in room .Needs a little more focus on bedrooms to live up to 5 * rating .
